I had the pleasure of exploring the Amazon with Jose in early September 2024 and it was truly a once in a lifetime experience! We stayed in a village with an Amazonian family, did night safaris, jungle treks, overnight camping trips, fished for and cooked piranhas, played soccer with the village, and so much more. Everything was so well set up and flexibility in case there were any weather changes. The highlight of the entire tour was the food. Every single meal was incredible and I’m already craving it. Thank you so much for an amazing experience, Jose, and I will for sure be coming back to the Amazon for another tour in the not so distant future.

My friends and I were very keen on having an authenticate Amazon experience. I was slightly concerned that I was not going to find an organized, english speaking guide for the adventure I was looking for. I was not interested in being apart of a typical gringo Amazon resort experience as I wanted to be immersed into the REAL Amazonian environment. I can honestly not have imagined it to have been any better than what I experienced with Joe. He will tailor the adventure to your needs and abilites. One minute I was holding a Cayman in my hand, fishing pirahnas from the river, learning about all the trees/plants and their uses, making our own beds in the jungle etc Joe is a legend and it was by far the best pàrt of South America that I could take away from traveling for two months. Outside of the fact that Joe is extremely educated in the ways of the jungle, he is highly respected from the native community as he travels from village to village, creating water filtration systems that prevent their families and children from getting sick by drinking contaiminated water. Joe is the Amazon.

Our purpose in the jungle was two fold: deliver medical care to local villages and to walk out alive. Joe helped us accomplish just that! With over 18+ years as a translator and guide with Amazon Promise, he also kept us safe and provided education on the local flora and fauna to make this trip one that was filled with a life time of memories. Kind, considerate and the ultimate professional, Joe in himself was a highlight of our trip. J&E

My five day trip in the djungle with Jose was probably the best part of my trip in Peru. We saw (what feels like) everything. Jose is tranquil, generous, kind and happy. His interest for the djungle, the tropical animals and the nature makes him an excellent guide. Although he speaks fluent english and spanish, he had a lot of patience with my spanish. He took care of everything with the journey, he even helped me with tips for my coming travels in Peru after the five days were over. Jose knows a lot of villagers in the jungle because of his work with their water system. He is very much liked by everyone we met, and all his friends have been very greeting. My time in the djungel kan be described as filled with affection and peace of mind, and of course: marvel at the nature. The family with which we stayed were very generous and caring. The mother cooked amazing food and the father came with us out in the djungle to help navigate and find as many interesting things as possible. The children were great and very capable. The athmosphere was humorous, tranquil and cheerful. I really recommend contacting Jose. You will not regret it. /sara
