Our recent trip to Armenia and Georgia was overall a fantastic experience. Armenia was definitely the highlight of our journey, and we feel truly fortunate to have had David as our tour guide. He was highly professional, knowledgeable, and adventurous, which matched our travel style perfectly. He even took us to some beautiful off-the-beaten-path locations that were not part of the itinerary. One of the most memorable moments was a small picnic we had at a scenic spot on our way to Georgia. David was also very considerate of our physical limitations. Knowing that some places involved difficult walks or climbs, he often drove us closer to the attractions so that we could fully enjoy them without unnecessary strain. We only wish he could have continued with us for the Georgia portion of the trip. Unfortunately, our experience in Georgia was not as enjoyable. While our driver, Levan, was excellent and did his best while following the tour guide's instructions, we felt the guide was not the right fit for us. Although he was aware of our physical constraints and was knowledgeable about the places we visited, the trip started with a walking city tour, which was challenging for us. We believe a full-time guide who also drives, similar to David, would have been a much better arrangement. Another issue was the lack of flexibility during long drives. Many of the destinations were over an hour apart, and we often wanted short tea or coffee breaks, mainly to use the restroom and stretch our legs. However, the guide was very particular about where to stop and often declined places that seemed perfectly acceptable and were being used by many other travelers. As a result, we frequently missed the opportunity to have a coffee break when we needed one. That said, the guide did take us to all the planned attractions and shared useful information about the destinations. Despite our disappointment with the Georgia experience, the overall trip was memorable, and our wonderful time in Armenia made it truly special.
