We were lucky to have Cecil as our tour guide this Saturday in Verdun. He manages to combine being extremely knowledgeable, with plenty of historical information to communicate, with a genuine passion for the subject, plenty of anecdotes, stories about particular people and units. Not every guide can do this but he does it really well. I would have no hesitation in taking another tour with Cecil.

Cecil was an excellent tour guide. He was on time and extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. He fully introduced the battle of Verdun in the wider  context of the French experience of WW1 . He made great use of maps  to explain everything we saw. It was great to get his perspective on the way the battle is commemorated by French people . He has a very practical knowledge of the area and we got great value from the tour. We will be back. Thank you Cecil. 

Cecil was great with our 13 yr old WW1 expert as we toured Verdun and associated sites and monuments.

Cecil took us on a two-day tour of the Verdum battlefields. I suspect a lot of people could read about the history and show others around. But Cecil is passionate about what he does and what he wants to show others. We saw the major sites, but we also saw the small, personal sites that really brought out the emotions of the time. WWI was over 100 years ago, but its story remains relevant. Cecil brought it to life for us.  It touched me in a way I hadn't imagined, and it is all because of Cecil's knowledge and caring. If/when we come back, we will definitely be getting a 2nd tour from him. Cecil, on behalf of my son and me, thank you so much.
