I only had one weekend in Kathmandu for sightseeing, before I had to attend a conference, but with the help of Manorath, I managed to see and learn so much about Kathmandu Valley and the fascinating Nepalese culture. Manorath is very knowledgeable (and passionate) about his country's history, culture and language, and I learned an incredible amount of things in a short span of time. We explored Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Patan (the three royal cities in Kathmandu Valley) and in the process I saw six UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The best thing about Manorath is that he is such good company – it felt like I was sightseeing with a very knowledgeable friend. And, a bonus is that he happens to be a good photographer too... he very patiently took some photos of me at various sites. I can highly recommend Manorath and will definitely contact him again, should I be so lucky to visit Nepal again in the future.
My husband and I had a very memorable time in Kathmandu 3 years ago, thanks to Manorath who was our guide for a couple days. His friendliness and knowledge of this ancient city is beyond words. He spent hours and hours telling us the history of the buildings and temples. This city has one of the oldest histories on earth. It was an inisght we could not have gained on our own. Although many monuments have been damaged or destroyed during the earthquake, the local people have worked hard alongside international aid to rebuild or renovate these unique monuments.
If we ever have the chance to visit Nepal again, I definietly will contact Manorath to guide us around not just Kathmandu, but other parts of Nepal. His knowledge is indispensable.

I was in Nepal for a solo hike to EBC in May 2013. Manorath was my personal tour guide for a tour of Kathmandu.
I just had 1 day in Kathmandu before startng towards EBC and Manorath did an excellent job of covering all the important places in Kathmandu.
His knowledge about stupas, monastries and Buddhism in general is second to none. I was thorougly impressed by the level of details and the depth of his understanding about several topics. He not only expalined about the historical significance of these places but also gave intriguing philosophical insights. He makes an excellent tour guide. He is also fun to hang out with and his command over English is impeccable.
It was a pleasure having Manorahth as my guide and I look forward to meet him again sometime in the near future when I am back in Nepal. I highly recommend Manorath!!
