We had the most amazing holiday in Sri Lanka accompanied for nearly two weeks by the wonderful Sam. His gentle approach, his polite, calm manner made him the perfect driver and tour guide. His air condidtioned minibus was immaculate, cleaned every day with fresh ice ready in a cool box!. His knowledge of his homeland was excellent. We learnt a great deal from him. We travelled all over the island. He took us to Buddhist temples, markets, safaris and many local seafood resaurants. Nothing was too much trouble and he worked hard to make the holiday as smooth as possible considering there were six of us, all eager to get the most out of our days. We followed our children's cricket tour but he willingly took us off the beaten track, showing us the real Sri Lanka. His flexibility and good humour were much appreciated. We can not thank Sam enough and highly recommend him. He simply made our venture extra special in a most unasuming way.

We are slightly worried about being too detailed in our praise for Sam as we may find he is too busy and in demand to look after us next time we visit Sri Lanka. The plain truth is that Sam was fantastic - such a nice, thoughtful, knowledgeable and engaging guide and we loved him. We were one of three demanding couples following our children through Colombo, Kandy and Galle with various stops (cricket venues and tourist venues) in between. We had an absolute blast and notched up such happy memories. Sam's minibus was modern, really spacious and comfortable and even had to carry our drinks chiller (stocked and recharged with ice and a wheelchair for part of the tour. Sam knew about short-cuts, best viewpoints, best places to park for attractions and for lunches or loo stops.

God bless you Sam and we can't wait to get back to beautiful Sri Lanka.

Sam is the best guide we could have wished for: friendly, good company, excellent driver, knows a lot about Sri Lanka history. He is also relaxed, flexible and not intrusive, which we very much appreciated. 

Sam has been one of the best drivers I ever had. He guided us through the difficult traffic situations of the country with patients, kindness and very good driving skills. Though the traffic is very tough in Sri Lanka, we never had uncomfortable feelings. And he knows quite a lot of the history and present of the country. He is very helpful and caring without being obstrusive. We really enjoyed our travel with Sam. When coming back we want to book him again...

Sam was a guide for our party of 6 friends and we did not have one moment of regret or unhappiness for the whole 2 week trip.  Sam is a very polite, friendly and calm guide and we learnt very quickly that he could be relied on to get you to where you needed to get to in good time and with a minimum of fuss.  Driving is quite an experience in Sri Lanka but he was always in control and handled the van very well: it was also cleaned inside and out pretty much every day.  Sam stayed with us for all the organised trips, even on the safari where he had to stay at a hotel some distance away from the tents, and was always ready with a warm smile to set us off.  He also did not bombard us with a lot of chatter but, rather, ensured we were informed of the important things but let us alone quietly on long journeys.  He was also completely happy to go "off piste" and transport people around to venues not on the itinerary, or swap one trip for another so he is very flexible in that respect.  He was also amusing and we had some laughs with him e.g. everything seems to be "half an hour" away :-)  All in all, a first rate guide and I would not hesitate to recommend him.
