We really enjoyed our time with Gad! We only had a day in Cairo to see the pyramids, sphinx and GEM, but Gad packed in as much interesting info as possible! He is an expert and was super well prepared with cool insights and history. Even in the museum, his commentary went so above and beyond whatever information was on the plaques next to the items. Also just a cool guy, protected us from all the vendors trying to hassle, navigated around lines when possible etc Wish we could go with him to see more places :)

Four of us recently took a trip to Egypt (Cairo, Aswan, Abu-Simbal, and Luxor). Gad arranged the pickups, the daily transport, and personally guided us in Cairo. His knowledge of Egyptology was impressive, and he was very helpful. He arranged one of his employees (Mohammed) to meet us in Aswin and take us to Abu-Simbal (an absolute must see) and then accompany us on the Cruise up the Nile to Luxor. Mohammed was friendly and clearly passionate about his home town of Luxor. I would highly recommend anyone considering a trip to Egypt to contact Gad. His prices were fair and as stated he is knowledgable, friendly, and professional. A final passing note, Gad is extremely responsive to communications.

Our experience with Gad Eways was 5 stars. He has spent years studying Egyptology and brought his knowledge to the tour. He provided us many details of Egptyian History that we would have missed if we did not have him as a guide. He also made the tour fun, relaxed, easy and enjoyable. If you need a guide in Cairo, especially one who has spent his life studying Egyptology we would highly recommmend Gad
Outstanding, Kind, Interesting, Knowledgeable

It's difficult to understate how important it is to have a great tour guide that will help you navigate Egypt, and in particular Cairo, well. Moreover, if you are at all a history buff or are just curious about ancient Egypt, Gad is the guide to hire. He is fantastically knowledgeable and well-trained, and will teach you more about the pyramids and ancient Egypt than the best books.
Gad is also funny and kind, accomodating, and will help you understand modern Egypt and its culture well too. I would hire Gad again, no question.

Our Egypt Trip

We first met Gad years ago and he was so incredible I became friends with him on Facebook. I can't say I am friends with any other tour guide I have ever met on my travels and that's because Gad was more than just a guide. He treated us like we were his guests. And there was a large group of us too; at least 10-13 people. He answered our many, many questions patiently and made sure that the shops and restraunts we visited were safe, and we weren't charged outrageous tourist prices. He was able to navigate entrance fees, shuttle fees, and our transportation and food needs with ease. All with honesty and integrity. There was no need for us to negotiate prices with all the vendors that our big touristy group encountered. What's more, he was quite knowledgeable of everything Cairo and the Pyramids had to offer. There is no way I would have learned as much from an audio recording or the internet or a guide book. Gad had deep knowledge of things only a passionate, studied individual who loves his countrys history could. He taught us about the region while also looking out for our safety and well being. It was like visiting your professor uncle in Egypt.
I would highly recommend a guide if visiting Egypt and Gad in particular if you are in Cairo or the surrounding area. He definitely made our trip a once in a lifetime experience and enabled us to enjoy ourselves while he worried about logisitcs and education.
