So, you're here because you want to find the best possible guide for your trip to Cairo and Egypt. If you don't like long reviews, then I can tell you now that you won't find a better guide than Yasser at Bucket List Travel. Yasser and Annie run a top notch operation!

So, for the details, I have always been an independent traveller and have pretty much stayed away from guided tours. This time on my first trip to Egypt and Cairo in particular, I was limited for time and didnt want to waste any. Prior to leaving Canada I came to TourHQ to search for a guide. I put in my requirements and sent off my enquiry. I was a little specific on what I wanted to do.

I received nine replies, eight of which were just a "copy and paste" job and did not speak to my individual wishes. The only one that actally addressed what I wanted was Bucket List. They answered and dealt with every enquiry I had. Anne was a real pleasure to deal with. I was travelling and working in the Middle East prior to going to Egypt, so online communication was a little challenging at times for me BUT Annie was super patient and very understanding. Even then before I met her and Yasser, I had a pretty good feeling that I had made the best choice.

So, fast forward to my pick up from the hotel in Cairo for my first day with them to Giza and the Pyramids. They were on time for me and were really friendly and made me feel very comfortable and welcome. They even gave me an oversized bottle of water! A small touch, but it meant a lot. They engaged a lot in conversation, telling me about Cairo and Egypt, and they were interested in me too. I talk a lot, maybe too much, and I know that if you weren't the chatty type, that they would respect that too. It was a very enjoyable and informative drive through Cairo to Giza, during which I learned a lot about Yasser and the lengths he has gone to during his life to acquire as much knowledge as possible about his beloved country and the history. I honestly could not have had a better guide - there was no question he was unable to answer, and the way he navigated us through everything was really relaxing. I felt safe the whole time.

I had two days with Bucket List, the second one was in Cairo itself. I have travelled a lot, but Cairo is quite an assault on all the senses. There is so much to see and without Yasser, I would have missed so much of it. It's one thing to 'see' places, but to have someone as knowledgeable as Yasser to fill in those gaps and describe what it is you are looking at, makes the whole experience so much more valuable.

Yasser is also currently building a joke book, which is fairly thin right now :) I'm sure I provided him with some new material. He has a good sense of humour and the three of us had a lot of fun. They were very respectful and patient and really changed my view of "guided tours". My visit to Cairo was so much richer thanks to them.

I'm not getting paid for writing this review - I just feel that hard working and passionate people like Yasser and Annie should be rewarded and recognised for the obvious love and passion they have for their job and for their beautiful country. I give them five stars throughout, not because I'm lazy, but because they earned them.

I am in no doubt that Yasser and Annie will be a part of my next visit to Egypt. You should make them part of yours too!
