We booked a 5 day tour to Manu Reserve and had Moises as our guide. I travel with a 6 year old, so i aprehended a bit this trip. Moises is a very  patient and knowlegeable person and made us all feel at ease and comfortable with all the schedule. What I appreciated in him is that he was very motivated and very keen to share the secrets of the jungle with us. Maya liked him very much and was very sad when the trip was over. Thank you Moises for this beautiful experience! 

Wonderful guide! I only have the nicest words to say. Moises took care of our group, showed patience, and offered endless knowledge. He's a great story teller and it's always nice when he shares stories of his childhood in the jungle. He was always on the look out to show us interesting species. Great guide! 

We travelled with our family of four boys to the Manu reserve for the six day tour.  Moises is extremely knowlegeable and has an incredibly ability to spot a bird, mammal or insect even when in shadow, motionless and at some distance. Time and time again we'd be travelling down the river and Moises would call out to the Captain, get the boat to turn then bring us slowly up close to a caiman, all but hidden beneath bushes with just its eyes showing, or a monkey on a high branch or a bird slowly revealed among foliage.  His knowledge of species is incredible, and he was always helpful about showing us the animals through the scope, so we got fantastic close ups, and would follow that up by taking a picture through the scope using our iphones.  He's also laid back, funny and friendly, a very pleasant person to share time with.  I'll never forget the football match he organised for my son to take part in at one of our stops - nor the way he spent the whole game passing to my son every time he got the ball, rather than going for goal himself.

We just got back from the 6D/5N Reserve Zone trip to Manu National Park, with Moises as our guide. I couldn't recommend the trip or Moises as a guide more highly. Moises is an exceptional guide and a great person to spend time with. He has a great and easy personality and immediately puts you at ease with him. He truly wants to make your trip everything you want it to be. If you're a birder, his knowledge of the birds was complete, he could identify them by sight, sound, flight pattern, then would show you in his book to make sure you knew what it was. We were most interested in mammals and once he found that out he made every effort to find everything he could for us. On a night walk we wanted to see frogs, to accomodate us, he took a detour and took us right to where we could find some, and of course we did. It seemed every time we were looking for something specific he would take us right to the right place. He knows all the plants, animals, and birds but also how they fit into the forest. It is obvious he grew up in the area and has a deep understanding and care for the forest, but also the people who live in and around the area. As others have said, he relates stories of his growing up, his family, and friends into his descriptions of the plans and animals so that you're not just getting IDs and information, but an intimate knowledge of the place. Like I said, can't recommed him enough, if we go back we will certainly be going with Moises again. Thanks Moises, you helped make our trip to Manu an experience to remember. Cheers! Dave
