I reached out to Adrian as my mother had invited some friends from the US to have a once in a lifetime experience of Normany and specifically the D-Day landings. I booked it for them as I had known Adrian for many years prior to this albeit in a completely different capacity. The key was that this had to be very special, as this was for my mother and some lifelong friends of hers. As this was a very small group (3), Adrian proposed to pick my mother and her two friends at their hotel in his car, which he did. He arrived ahead of time in fact. He then had proposed a UK tour or US tour and we chose the US for obvious reasons. The tour lasted an entire day and included a number of stops for lunch and coffee which was important given the age of my parents and her friends. 

After their tour, I spoke to my mother who was tremendously happy with her day. So much so, that she wanted to make sure I gave Adrian her feedback. I thought that I would use that same feedback in this review. Her feedback was: (a) "It was far beyond our expectations", (b)"Adrian is very knoweldgeable and we would not have known a quarter of it had he not been there to explain" And finally she asked me to tell him that: (c) "he was a real gentleman". 

I wanted this to be very special experience.........and Adrian delivered! 

Adrian gave us a fabulous tour on Omaha Beach and he gave us very interesting details as well ! I'd do that again anytime. Adrian is an amazing guide for battlefield tours, I recommend him !

He could answer all our questions without referring to notes,

It was very detailed and you felt you travelled back in time and were there on the day.

He took the time and effort to add at the end of the first day a visit to a cemetery that was not on the itinerary so I could pay my respects to my uncle. This I will always remember and be grateful for his thoughtfulness.

Kicking off around a bonfire with a charming history lesson during the dinner, continuing the next day doing a roadtrip along the normandy coast and, ending up the tour with a fantastic picnic lunch around the german Bunkers; getting always the exact and concrete right information about every army division landing spot... It's been really fantastic to get all this war knowledge from Captain Ridley-Jones! Excellent ;)

I arranged a bespoke tour for my 77 year old  mother, who is a keen historian. The Normandy landings has always been something she wanted to do and became one of her bucket list items. Having completed a whistle stop tour with Adrian last year,  I knew he would be the perfect guide for a longer tour with my mother. She is well read   and I knew Adrian would have the in depth knowledge that Mum would need. I could not recommend the tour more highly. We were very lucky to stay at La Rougerie farm and have the complete package; bed, breakfast and evening meal. This enabled us to talk about the tour over breakfast and evening meal. La Rougerie farm host (Fiona Ridley-Jones) and her personable farm hand Pavel attentively catered for all our needs! We were also charmed by the resident chocolate Labradors Sherlock and Watson. Looking forward to our next trip when we hope to visit neighbouring Bayeux and Caen.
