Excellent guide

Reviewed May 6, 2023

Hamid took us on a tour from the cruise port. He brought us a small gift. We went to the american cemetery, and many other areas.  He took us to a lovely restaurant for lunch and was very informative on local sights. We thouroughly enjoyed our tour with Hamid.

WONDERFUL DAY TOUR OFF CRUISE SHIP

Reviewed April 28, 2023

Four of us were met by Hamdi early morning outside the cruise port and returned to ship late afternoon.  We recommend Hamdi to everyone.  The day was tailor made to our requests & interests, we saw the major sites in the greater Tunis area, walked Sidi Bou Said before other travelers arrived, visited the North African American Cemetery,  Carthage, and the central souk of Tunis.  Our authentic Tunisian lunch was outstanding - sea bream was my favorite.  If you want to meet and learn of life and culture from an authentic Tunisian  who also is a friendly guide who has lived a full life and is gracious and kind, Hamdi will not dissapoint.  We met as strangers and parted as friends.

A friend for a guide

Reviewed January 10, 2023

Ahmed does not come originally from a tour guide background - he is a retired ex-military and chose to pursue tourism out of personal interest. So if you're looking for someone with all of the factoids and dates memorized about every historical site he is not the kind of guide you're looking for. But Ahmed is a truly truly remarkable guide because of three main qualities.

1 - He is exceptionally well connected: if you ever need anything ranging from AAA-grade dates (fruit) from vendors in remote locations, the most knowlegeable 4x4 drivers, a historian, a local barber to give you a treat or a beduin to show you how to make bread in the desert - he knows them all and have them on speed dial.

2 - He is adaptable and resourceful: Ahmed goes to great lenghts to find out what kind of experience a guest needs, and will make it his personal mission to deliver on it. That includes a great ability to adapt plans and make adjustments to better suit his clients wishes.

3 - Great people skills: he will quickly make you feel like a friend and has a very keen sense on how to approach locals and tourists alike.

Language skills: Ahmed and I spoke in French, in which he is exceptionally fluent. He is currently working  hard on his english and by now has a level of probably B1-B2.

Ahmed thouroughly delivered on my wishes, adapted last minute to unforseen circumstances, took enormous detours for my whims and majorly surpassed my expectations for my Tunisia experience. Thank you.

Wonderful guide - we really recommend him

Reviewed November 30, 2022

We had a tour in the whole Tunisia with Hammed and he was very flexible and polite. He did the journey as we planned. He was also always on time. When we had an historical place, he contract other especilized guide, point that make the tour enlighted in information and really liked the guide that He contract. He also recommend some hotels and restaurants that we really liked and He tryed to get  a better price. We really recommend him.

Something that should be improved is his english. Sometimes we feel that he would like to contribute with more information, but because of the lack of vocabulary he couldn't  express himself completely.

Hamdi is a perfect ambassador for his country. We spent 2 very enjoyable days together. He guided me to an exceptional restaurant and was patient with my various demands and requests. You will be in very good hands with this truly lovely kind man.
