My girlfriend and I had an amazing experience at the Mvuu Lodge in Liwonde, especially with our guide, Samuel! Samuel led us on a boat safari, bush walk and a rhino drive during our stay. He is EXTREMELY knowledgeable and enthusiastic which made our trip a really enjoyable time to learn about all of the park's wildlife, whether it was mammals, birds, insects or the behavior of all three. Samuel took the extra time to explain why certain animals were doing certain things as they were happening (e.g. explaining how elephants can be right/left "handed", why termite mounds all lean slightly in one direction, etc) helping make the experience that much better than just seeing all of the wildlife. We even managed to see a Black Coucal during our boat safari which is a very rare sighting in Liwonde. My girlfriend and I highly recommend Samuel if you plan to visit Liwonde!

We had a great safari with Samuel when our adult kids visited us in Malawi. He listened out for each person's interest - whether it was birds, or insects and was remarkable at spotting things - large like the elusive eles or tiny like the ant lion at night. We would recommend his services to any wildlife enthusiast.

It was an absolute pleasure to meet Samuel. His expertise, knowledge and enthusiasm were matched by his friendliness. We loved the safaris especially the boat safaris. Icing on the cake was the G&T in the hide overlooking a waterhole and elephants also enjoying a sundown drink. Many thanks to Samuel.

We loved our trip to Liwonde National Park, in no small part due to the enthusiasm and knowledge of Samuel. Samuel not only made great effort to find out what we were interested in seeing, but also took us to all of the appropriate habitats for the birds we were looking for. I have learnt much about a subject I was already passionate about. Thanks to Samuel's excellent skills and friendliness, the experience was one we will never forget.

It's always great to meet a local guide who really loves his work. Samuel really knew his birds and also plants, would be great to visit Liwonde when orchids are blooming. He was very friendly and good company. I am really looking forward to seeing him again after two weeks in Malawi.
