Discover the regions of Kinnaur and Spiti valley from Shimla, a hidden paradise with amazing landscapes and beautiful mountains. 

See Shimla and Manali's attractions and take in the beauty of the Sangla valley. Visit the Nako lake, Chandra Tal lake, Tabo Monastery, Ki monastery and see wildlife such as the Ibex, Blue Sheep and if really lucky, a snow leopard. Explore the legendary Rohtang pass and indulge in skiing, paragliding or horse-riding!

  • Day 1: Shimla Local Sightseeing expand_more
    • After breakfast, we will take you to the famous mall road in Shimla.

    • Later on, we will have a short walk to the heritage Vice Regal lodge, also called the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies. It is a heritage building with some beautiful parks and its interiors are a great example of architecture and art.

    • After that, we will take you for a short drive to Jakhu temple situated on top of Shimla.

  • Day 2: Shimla to Sarahan expand_more
    • Journey by jeep 5-6 hours. Sarahan is a small village situated on top of a hill and has big apple orchards and an amazing view of the trans-Himalayas.
    • After reaching Sarahan, we will take u to the famous Bhimakali Ji temple. The temple is itself a great example of architecture and the wooden carving on the walls makes it more beautiful.

    • After that, you can have a short walk to the next village Ragori, which has an amazing view of the valley.

  • Day 3: Sarahan to Sangla expand_more
    • Journey by jeep for 4 hours.

    • Of all the side valleys of River Satluj, the Sangla Valley is perhaps the most beautiful.

    • After reaching Sangla we will take you along a short walk to the famous Kamru fort. A series of low gates through the hamlet leads to the tower that rises five stories high. It serves as an excellent example of an architectural style that is unique to this part of the world.

  • Day 4: Sangla to Chitkul expand_more
    • This is the last inhabited village in the valley and past this come vast snowfields, high mountains, and acres of rocky terrain.

    • This is the last village between the border of India and Tibet from this side. You can have a walk along the Baspa river and can enjoy the amazing view, or you can hike a mountain for 3-4 hours.

    • The village also has a beautiful temple of a local goddess.

  • Day 5: Sangla to Kalpa expand_more
    • Journey by jeep for 3-4 hours.

    • En route, visit Recongpeo, which is the biggest town of Kinnaur Valley.

    • You can do some shopping, and if you are a visitor from outside India, you have to make your inner-line permits to continue your journey to Spiti Valley.

    • Kalpa has a great view of 'Kinner Kailash Peak', home of Lord Shiva.

    • After reaching Kalpa, we will take you to the famous Chini village, a beautiful temple and a small Buddhist monastery.

    • Later on, we will take you on an adventure walk to the next village called Roghi.

  • Day 6: Kalpa to Nako expand_more
    • Journey by jeep for 5 hours.

    • Nako is one of  Kinnaur's most picturesque hamlets. It has a small but beautiful high altitude lake and has an important and very old monastery with a couple of small temples.

    • If you like hiking, you can hike a mountain which leads to the next village of Tashigang. You can hike the trail and come back in 3-4 hours.

  • Day 7: Nako to Tabo expand_more
    • Journey by jeep for 3 hours.

    • After driving through Kinnaur valley, we will enter Spiti Valley, and the first stop is Tabo.

    • At first glance, Tabo seems nothing more than a cluster of large mud huts, but inside, a series of amazing galleries of wall paintings and stucco statues emerge.

    • Tabo Monastery was founded in 996 AD and is also called 'Ajanta of Himalayas'. In terms of area, this the largest monastic complex in Spiti. It has 23 chortens and nine temples.

    • After visiting the monastery, we will take you to the old meditation caves used by monks in old times.

  • Day 8: Tabo to Dhankar expand_more
    • Journey by jeep for 2-3 hours. Perched high over the valley, this is a superb example of Spiti's traditional architectural skills. The monastery in Dhankar is almost 1200 years old and comes in the world's 100 endangered monuments.

    • After visiting the monastery we will take you to another high altitude holy lake with carp fish. The walk to the lake is 1 hour and has an amazing view of beautiful landscapes.

  • Day 9: Dhankar to Pin Valley expand_more
    • Journey by jeep for 4 hours.

    • Pin valley is a national park and more green than other parts of Spiti. Some major treks start from this valley. One is the Pin-Parvati pass trek of 9 days which joins Spiti and Parvati Valley in Kullu, and another is the Bhaba Pass trek of 3 days which joins Spiti and Kinnaur Valley.

    • The small villages on landscapes make the view more beautiful.

    • After reaching the village you can have a long or short walk in amazing trails in the mountains where you can see ibex, blue sheep, and if you are lucky, then a snow leopard.

    Overnight stay in a homestay.

  • Day 10: Pin valley to Kaza expand_more
    • Journey by jeep for 3 hours.

    • Kaza is the biggest commercial town of Spiti Valley. It also has a newly made monastery.

    • After reaching Kaza we will take you for a drive to Ki monastery - one of the main monasteries of Spiti Valley; and Kibber village - a small and beautiful village situated at 4200 meters on a spectacular landscape.

    Later on, return to Kaza and stay overnight in a guesthouse or homestay.

  • Day 11: Kaza to Chandra Taal expand_more
    • Journey by jeep for 5-6 hours.

    • Chandra Tal is the most beautiful high altitude lake in the valley. It is also called the Moon Lake as it is shaped like a half-moon. Its deep blue water has a width of 2.5 km. It is situated at 4270 meters above sea level.

  • Day 12: Chandra Taal to Manali expand_more
    • The last day of the journey is full of adventure. On the way, we will cross the upcoming streams from the mountains. The amazing view of landscapes and snow-covered mountains makes the journey more special.

    • Cross the famous Rohtang Pass, where we can have a stop if you want to do skiing, paragliding, and horse riding.
