  • Day 1: Gushaini to Rolla expand_more
    • Walkthrough the eco-zone of GHNP. There is a gentle gradient at the beginning of the trek.
    • Eat lunch consisting of (stuffed Indian bread) paratha pickles, fresh local fruits, and toffee chocolates.
    • Enjoy high tea on reaching Roll consisting of soup, tea/coffee & biscuits.
    • Appreciate the bonfire for all. Sit around the bonfire for dinner (starters, main course, and sweet dish).
  • Day 2: A hike from Rolla to Shilt expand_more
    • Appreciate breakfast consisting of paratha, bread jam-butter, tea/coffee/milk, and fresh fruits.
    • Decide where to camp (Rolla or Shilt Hut) for the day, depending on your comfort. It is better to leave Rolla in the morning to reach Shilt for lunchtime. It is a 3-4 hour hike. During the climb, you have great chances to observe the colourful endangered Monal & Western Tragopan. As you are at Shilt, the forest gives way to a large meadow. Without the trees, the view gets clear and lets you discover the Tirthan Valley and some magnificent peaks of more than 5000 m in height.
    • Eat lunch consisting of roti-sabzi with salad.
    • Unwind with high tea on reaching Rolla consisting of soup, tea/coffee & biscuits.
    • Sit around the bonfire for all. Eat dinner (starters, main course, and sweet dish) around a bonfire.
  • Day 3: Back to Gushaini from Rolla/Shilt expand_more
    • Go for some early morning photography sessions. For people who wake up early, a scenic sunrise can be observed from Shilt Hut (if camping there).
    • Leave for Gushaini after having a heavy breakfast with a packed lunch en route. Trek ends.

  • Shilt Hut Trek (Gushaini-Rolla-Shilt-Gushaini): The Shilt Hut trek is a rather moderate to easy trek with spectacular scenic beauty. Bird lovers can spot many exquisite species of birds, like the colourful Western Tragopan & Monal. On reaching Shilt, a vast meadow awaits, wrapping the earth like a natural carpet. Here, you can spectate the mighty mountains in their full demeanour; the highest can reach up to 5000m.

  • No firearms, weapons, bows and arrows, or firecrackers.
  • No kindling fires (except cooking fires) or smoking.
  • No shouting, teasing or chasing wild animals.
  • No molesting or feeding animals.
  • No electronic radios, tape recorders, or speakers (except within a rest house and only at a low pitch).
  • No parties.
  • No fishing or hunting.
  • No damaging or removal of any wildlife tree, display signs or the boundary marks of the park/sanctuary.
