Description

Go on an exciting adventure with trekking and a river cruise. Along the way, you will get to visit an orangutan conservation and rehabilitation area. Keep a lookout for crocodiles, gibbons, honey bears, macaques, and many others. Get an opportunity to meet some of the Orangutans who have been being rehabilitated; over a hundred of them were being rehabilitated and released to the forest, and you might see some of the wild ones.

  • Day 1: Arrival expand_more
    • Meet your tour manager at the Pangkalanbun airport. 
    • Transfer to Kumai with your Indonesian safari tour guide.

    • Board a boat for 2 hours journey to the National Park Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre.

  • Day 2: Visit the National Park expand_more
    • Go for a walk to the first camp, and visit “the feeding time” to see how they treat the Orangutans wild again.

    • Return to the boat for lunch.

    • Continue cruising up to Camp Leakey after lunch. 

    • Meet one of the park rangers who will take you into the forest to some of the Orangutans who have been rehabilitated.

    • Go on an hour's night trekking after dinner.

    • Spend the night on the boat.

  • Day 3: Departure expand_more
    • Cruise slowly down the river while listening to the sound of nature after breakfast. Observe some species of birds flying over you and the trees.

    • Return to Kumai, stop visiting the Sekonyer Village (optional) on the way.

    • Transfer to your hotel in Pangkalanbun or to the airport to fly to your next destination.
