Sign up for this short 3-day tour to the gorgeous village of Marike in Langkat District and enjoy rafting on the Sei Wampu River. Check out flora and fauna of Simolap Marike Forest on a jungle walk and visit the scenic Sei Murak Hot Springs, Sampuran Ganjang Waterfall, and Gelap and Terang Cave.

    • Pick you up at the airport or from your hotel stay in Medan.

    • Stop at someplace for food and also to see some nice plantations along the way to Marike, Langkat District, North Sumatra.

    • Meet with my team for rafting, briefing preparation before rafting like explain the tools and security tools use for participants and etc.

    • Start rafting on the Sei Wampu River.

    • Finish in the afternoon and head back to the hotel and free program.

  • Day 2- Junggle tracking expand_more

    • After breakfast in the homestay, starting the jungle track to Simolap Marike forest as this forest is also a part of Leuser National Park.

    • Start walking around the forest to see flora and fauna such as Hornbill, gibbon, Siamang, and Orangutan. (Orangutans on this place are still wild and there is no guarantee we will see them. It depends on fruit season which is usually around every March till July and so we have a better chance to see Orangutans at that time)

    • See other primates like silver leaf monkey, Tomas leaf monkey, Macaque, deers, and songbirds.

    Stay overnight in the forest.

    Free program at the base camp.

  • Day 3- Reviewing Natural Attractions - Transfer out / Airport expand_more

    • Visit Gelap and Terang Cave which is about 200 m long. We have to use a headlamp or flashlight to search for the contents of the cave.

    • Enjoy at Sampuran Ganjang Waterfall.

    • Have fun at Sei Murak Hot Springs.

    • Head back to Medan and transfer out.

Know before you go

  • Marike is one of the villages in the Langkat District. It can be reached with a 2 - 2.5 hours drive from Medan city or about 1 hour from the tourist attraction of the Bohorok Orangutan Semi-Wild Center.

  • Sei Wampu River flows across two districts in North Sumatra, namely Karo Regency in the upstream and Langkat districts in the lower reaches. For the Amazing Wampu Experience package, the start point of Rafting on the Wampu river is in Marike.
