Description

Go on a 5-day trek and climb Mt. Mahameru via Ranupane village, pass by Lake Ranu Kumbolo and reach the high campsite, Kalimati. Hike to the volcanic cone to watch sunrise from the summit. Walk down to vast fertile farming village via Mt. Ayeg Ayeg, and drive to the Lenggoksono beach Village. Visit the secluded beaches of Banyu Anjlok, Kletekan, and Bolu-Bolu.

  • Day 1 : Ngadas - Ranupane expand_more

    • Meet the guide, and pick up from the hotel or airport in Malang.

    • Drive to the village of Ngadas by 4x4 Toyota.

    • Arrive in the village of Ngadas.

    • Trek to the village of Ranupane through local farming land.

    • Arrive at the village of Ranupane.

    • Stay overnight at Thomas homestay or equivalent.

    Dinner served.

  • Day 2 : Ranupane - Kalimati High Camp expand_more

    • Have early breakfast, served at the homestay.

    • Start trekking to the crater Lake Ranu Kumbolo, 2600m asl.

    • Eat lunch served by the lake.

    • Start trekking to Kalimati, 2700m asl. Arr. Kalimati.

    • Prepare campsite.

    Dinner served.

    Stay overnight. (tent sharing accommodation).

  • Day 3 : Kalimati - Mt Mahameru - Ranupane expand_more

    • Prepare for pre-dawn climb to the summit of Mahameru.The steep trail to Arcopodo takes about an hour. And the rest 600 m is very steep volcanic loose scree that you have to wear medium-high trekking shoes with Vibram soles.

    • Arrive at the summit of Mahameru, 3676m asl. - the highest active volcano in Java.

    • Watch the sunrise and enjoy the snack and tea served.

    • Trek down to Arcopodo, Kalimati.

    • Eat Breakfast.

    • Trek down to Ranu Kumbolo.

    • Have Lunch.

    • Trek down to Ranu pane via Mt. Ayek Ayek.

    Stay overnight at Thomas homestay (sharing room).

    Dinner served.

  • Day 4 : Ranupane - Beach village Lenggoksono expand_more

    • Early breakfast served at a homestay.

    • Start driving down to the town of Lumajang by minibus via Senduro.

    • Drive to the beach village of Lenggoksono.

    • Take some rest.

    • Enjoy Seafood lunch served at the beach.

    • Park the minibus in the village. The driver can stay at a local inn.

    • Go beach-combing to Banyu Anjlok waterfall.

    • Have some free time.

    Stay overnight at tented shared accommodation.
    Dinner at Warung (local coffee shop).

  • Day 5 : Lenggoksono - Bolu-Bolu - Kletekan expand_more

    • Have early breakfast.

    • Start beach-combing to Kletekan and Bolu-Bolu beach.

    • Enjoy lunch served at the beach.

    • Have a little free time.

    • Board the fisherman boat.

    • Return to the beach village of Lenggoksono by a traditional boat.

    • Get on the minibus.

    • Transfer to Bali, Surabaya, Malang.
