Embark on a 12-day Everest Base Camp trek from Kathmandu. Fly to Lukla and trek through Sherpa villages and pine forests to reach Namche Bazaar. Enjoy acclimatization in Namche and visit the Tengboche Monastery. Continue to Dingboche and explore the Chhukung Valley. Reach Lobuche and trek to Gorekshep, the initial base camp of Everest. Optional hike to Everest Base Camp and witness the sunrise from Kala Patthar. Return to Pheriche and trek back to Lukla. Fly back to Kathmandu, concluding an unforgettable adventure.

    Morning flight to Lukla (135 km) and start the trek through the Tamang and Sherpa villages. Lukla is mostly inhabited by Sherpa tribes. The trail gradually descends and is easy to Phakding.

  • Day 02: Phakding - Namche Bazaar expand_more

    You are approaching the Himalayas closely. Enjoy the views of the mountains and pine forests while following the trail accompanied by yaks. This will lead you to Namche Bazaar. Along the way, you will have your first encounter with Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and many more.

  • Day 03: Rest Day in Namche for Acclimatization (6 km) expand_more

    Optional hike to Thame/Khumjung Monastery/Everest View Hotel. Overnight at Guesthouse.

  • Day 04: Namche - Trek to Tengboche expand_more

    The trek begins easily, and then the trail goes downhill to Phunki Tanga, located by the riverside. Buddhism was introduced into the Khumbu Valley from this point. Ascend about 800m to reach Tengboche through the pine forest.

  • Day 05: Tengboche - Trek to Dingboche expand_more

    Tengboche offers the best view of Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku in the background. The Tengboche Monastery is another tourist attraction, so the GAT staff will take you there in the morning to participate in Puja (prayer). Then you'll descend through the Rhododendron forest, facing the giant mountain range towards Chhukung Valley.

    As we are walking in a high-altitude area, the trek feels more strenuous. After crossing the small river in Dhukla, the path goes steeply up to Lobuche. You will visit Chorten and Mane Stone and enjoy panoramic views of mountains above eight thousand meters. Overnight at Guesthouse.

  • Day 08: Lobuche - Gorakshep expand_more

    You are close to the lap of the Himalayan range. Gorakshep is the initial base camp of Everest, where climbers used to set up their camps until the 1950s. You can hike to Everest Base Camp and return to the lodge. Overnight at Guesthouse.

  • Day 09: Gorakshep - Pheriche expand_more

    Start early in the morning and trek to Kala Patthar (2 km+2 km) to witness an amazing sunrise with the closest proximity to Lhotse and Mt. Everest. On your way down, you will see the impressive Khumbu Glacier. After breakfast, continue trekking to Pheriche for a comfortable overnight stay.

  • Day 10: Pheriche - Namche expand_more

    Walking through the wide valley, you'll enjoy great views of the Himalayas and have the opportunity to visit the Sherpa village and monastery along the way to Namche Bazaar. If it's a Saturday, you might also see the Trans Himalayan Market in Namche Bazaar. Overnight at Guesthouse.

  • Day 11: Namche Bazaar - Lukla expand_more

    Even though you are trekking back along the same trails, you'll experience different views and pass through Sherpa villages, keeping your mind engaged. Overnight at Guesthouse.

  • Day 12 Lukla - Morning Flight Back to Kathmandu expand_more

    Transfer to your hotel. Take a morning flight back to Kathmandu.

Know before you go
  • This trek involves 5 to 7 hours of daily walking, and travellers should be physically fit.
  • Children below ten years are not suggested to take part in these activities.
  • The Maximum height you are gaining is 5,545m (Kalapathar).
  • Due to the weather condition, the Lukla flight may cancel, and you must wait another day, so please prepare mentally.
