Meet your driver at your hotel in Negombo and travel to Peradeniya. Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya is the oldest formal garden in Sri Lanka. The Royal Botanic Gardens Peradeniya attracts approximately 2 million local and foreign visitors annually. The garden includes more than 4000 species of plants, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees and is renowned for its collection of orchids and the long, palm framed pathways. 

Proceed to Kandy. 

Visit The Temple of the Tooth, popularly known as the “Sri Dalada Maligawa”, one of the most picturesque and iconic Buddhist temples in the country. Built in the year 1595 during the reign of King Vimaladarmasuriya I, the temple houses the sacred tooth relic of Lord Buddha. It, therefore, is venerated by devotees of the Buddhist faith from all corners of the world. 

Stop for lunch at a local restaurant nearby.

Stroll around Kandy Lake and spend some quality time after having lunch.

Proceed to visit the Bahirawakanda Temple. Sri Maha Bodhi Viharaya or Bahirawakanda Vihara Buddha is a Theravada Buddhist temple on top of a hill in Kandy. True to its “Big Buddha” is known for being a powerful and giant Buddha statue that overlooks the princely state of Kandy. It offers panoramic views of Kandy throwing light on the civilization, Kandy Lake, evergreen forests and tea plantations. 

End the tour, and you will be dropped back at your hotel in Negombo.
