Know before you go
Gorilla tracking is dependent on the permit availability at the time of your booking. Gorilla permits in all parks are very high in demand so we advise that you book them as early as possible.
In Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, you will get a great opportunity to see these magnificent beasts on foot in a controlled natural environment where the Rhinos are free to roam within the huge sanctuary but are guarded 24/7. The fee you pay goes 100% to Rhino Fund Uganda, in support of their work to establish a viable Rhino population here so that the Rhinos can be reintroduced into Uganda's national parks.
On the morning game drive along the Nile to the delta area, there may be lions, elephant, giraffe, and possibly leopard and hyena.
On the Wild Frontiers river launch, it takes around an hour and a half to reach the falls. On the way, scour the riverbanks for wildlife such as hippos and crocodiles naturally and a wide variety of spectacular waterbirds. On the banks, there’s a chance of seeing buffalo, warthog, elephant and various antelope.
On meeting the chimpanzees, you will be allowed to spend 1 hour following them.
On this ATV ride, we are able to take you on a journey through the farms, forests and small villages beside the River Nile and then add some really special sections to give you more challenging sections. With more time available, we are able to take you further out along the Nile, through the farms, forest and villages along the east bank. We tailor the trip according to the group, but generally, after the first hour, as you get more familiar with your ATVs potential we get to show you more about what quad bike riding is really about and why they are called All-Terrain Vehicles.
We give you a great trip through some special parts of this area that require more effort to get to. On this longer safari, we are able to take you on more challenging sections. There will also be more opportunities to meet some of the people living in the area.
The Horseback Safari is a slow paced one. There are some opportunities for a short canter if you choose, but this safari is still a slower paced safari aimed more at being a sightseeing tour through the village and along the river bank rather than a hardcore riding trip. A great trip for groups of friends or family that don't want anything too intense.
