Climb the Mount Kilimanjaro via Lemosha Route. Also, have a chance to visit Shira Plateau (Cathedral Peak) and Shira Caldera. Learn about the Lemosho Route crosses from Shira Ridge to Shira 2 Camp in a pleasant hike. Admire the Lava Tower, Barranco and Barafu, known as the southern circuit for their scenic views and landscapes.

  • Day 1: Moshi To Londorosi Gate To Big Tree Campsite expand_more
    • We will pick you up from your hotel and transport you to Londorosi Gate for registration. After this formality, you board the vehicle and drive again to Lemosho Glade. From this point, you will start the trek across the undisturbed Montane forest decorated with Black and White Colobus Monkeys to the camp where dinner and overnight will occur.

  • Day 2: Big Tree Campsite To Shira One Campsite expand_more
    • This is an acclimatization trek because you will gain over 650m by walking across a beautiful valley outside the Shira caldera rim (3600m). After a few hours, you will reach Shira Caldera. A high-altitude desert, Shira is one of the three peaks which erupted in the Kilimanjaro ecosystem. The peak later collapsed and formed a crater, eventually filling with the lava flow from Kibo Peak. Its rim is eroded and blasted away by weather and volcanic action. Camp and overnight at 3500m elevation at the Shira One Campsite.

  • Day 3: Shira One Campsite To Shira Two Campsite expand_more
    • On this day, you will trek to the east across the Shira plateau visiting (Cathedral peak 3850m)for acclimatization. Reaching at this peak, you will find spectacular views of Mt. Meru and Kibo Peak. We then continue trekking to Shira Two Camp, where we will stay for dinner and overnight place.

  • Day 4: Shira Two Campsite To Barancco Campsite expand_more
    • This is a long acclimatization day. You will have an early breakfast, then trek east to a junction leading to Lava tower rock 4600m for acclimatization. Afterwards, you will descend to Barranco Campsite for dinner and overnight.

    Elevation: 3800m to 3950m
    Distance: 13km
    Hiking time: 7-8 hours

  • Day 5: Barranco Campsite To Karanga Campsite expand_more
    • Today is a short day of trekking. In the morning, you will climb the Barranco wall, reach 4200m for acclimatization, and continue crossing ridges and valleys to Karanga Campsite for hot lunch. After lunch, you will rest and get another acclimatization of trekking up the scree slopes towards the Southern ice field. You will then return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

  • Day 6: Karanga Campsite To Barafu Campsite expand_more
    • Today's trek to the Barafu Ridge campsite is challenging because of the altitude. The walk takes a few hours because of the short distance but it is steep, which requires a slow pace to avoid fatigue. You will walk across an alpine desert with strong, cold winds blowing down from Kibo Peak and its glaciers. You will have an early dinner at 1700hrs, then rest until midnight when you commence your push for the summit.

  • Day 7: Barafu Hut Campsite To Uhuru Peak To Mweka Hut Campsite expand_more
    • Wake to a light breakfast at midnight and prepare for your summit ascent. The goal is to climb before dawn to reach Uhuru Peak shortly before or after sunrise. Departure for the summit is at 12:00 AM. switchback up steep scree or possibly snow, and reach Stella Point on the crater rim (5,861 m/18,640 ft) between 4 and 5 AM. 
    • At this point, you will have views of the fabled crater and its icecaps facing you. Then after 1 hour of hiking along the Kibo crater rim near the celebrated snow, it takes you to Kilimanjaro's true summit, Uhuru Peak. Here you will spend time taking photos. After your summit activities, you will return to the Barafu Huts Campsite for lunch, rest, collect your gear, and continue through the moorland and heath zone to Mweka Huts Campsite. Dinner and overnight at Mweka Hut Campsite.
    • Elevation: 4620m to 5895m to 3100m
      Distance: 15km
      Hiking time: 10 – 12 hours

  • Day 8: Mweka Hut Campsite To Mweka Gate expand_more
    • Today is your last day on the mountain. After breakfast, you will descend to Mweka Park gate, walking across Montane forest. This descent will take 3-4 hours. You will sign out and board the vehicle at the gate, ready to transfer back to your hotel for your certificate presentation celebration.

  • Recommended Immunisations
    • As a sensible precaution we recommend that you consider getting at least some of the following recommended immunizations:
    • Hepatitis A – You can get Hepatitis A through contaminated food or water in Tanzania, regardless of where you eat or stay.
    • Typhoid – You can get Typhoid through contaminated food or water in Tanzania, especially if you are visiting smaller cities or rural areas.
  • Please check with your local travel clinic for the latest recommendations.
  • An onward ticket and sufficient funds are required when entering Tanzania. Tanzanian people are friendly and will always offer a helping hand.
  • It is strongly advised to take out travel insurance which should cover baggage, personal accident, and medical insurance, specifically your Kilimanjaro expedition.
  • The official languages are Ki-Swahili and English. There are more than 120 tribal vernaculars.
  • Mainly Muslim, Christian and Traditional beliefs. Please keep in mind that you are entering a different country with strong religious customs.
  • As with any other town, walking alone at night is not advisable, and it is preferable to use taxis which are available at most hotels. Do not leave cash or valuables in your hotel room; use a safe deposit box.

  • Visas are required by most visitors to Tanzania. Visas are available at your local Tanzanian Embassy. Costs vary from country to country. Visas are valid for 3 months. It is possible, however, to obtain a tourist’s visa for a single entry at any ONE of the 
  • FOUR MAIN ENTRIES into Tanzania -subject to the fulfilment of all immigration and health requirements-, for those who could NOT apply for a visa from Tanzania Mission abroad. These are:
    • Dar-es-Salaam International Airport
    • Zanzibar International Airport
    • Kilimanjaro International Airport
    • Namanga Entry Point (Tanzania-Kenya border point)
      At all these points, payment is in US Dollars or its equivalent in Sterling. For all other entry points in Tanzania, visitors must hold valid visa before approaching those entry points in Tanzania. However, to avoid unnecessary delays, those who proceed to Tanzania from a country where there IS a Tanzania Diplomatic Mission or Consular Office are strongly advised to obtain their entry visa prior to departure to Tanzania.
