Day 1: Arrival & Mountain Cabin Hike expand_more
Arrive at the pre-decided location at 9 AM, where you will meet your photography instructor. Check-in at your hotel in Magura and have a light breakfast.
- Hike your way up to a woodsy mountainside refuge cabin with your guide. During this two-hour hike, you will find expansive scenic views and wide-open mountain areas to explore on the way.
- Take part in a photography session at the mountain cabin.
- Enjoy your lunch at the cabin after your session. Relish the delicious soups, apple desserts and wonderful teas that you will be served as you soak in the stunning view of the mountains.
- Trek back down the mountain and return to Magura.
- Participate in the day's post-photography session, where you will learn how to plan your shoots, produce powerful compositions, tell a story with your photos, and better use your camera’s settings to achieve creative effects.
Have a traditional dinner at your accommodation. Relax and prepare for the next day shoot.

Day 2: Photography at Pestera expand_more
- Start your day with an early breakfast.
Pack your lunch and camera gear and set out on a trek to the neighbouring village of Pestera.
Head down a small country back trail to a wide-open meadow where you will get to see expansive views of the Piatra Craiului mountain beyond the forest.
Begin your photography shoot. You will have your pre-packed lunch in the same location.
- On your way back to Magura, stop to photograph the mountains, traditional homes and the lives of Romanian villagers. Besides providing on-field instructions, your instructors will also personally review your images and discuss photography techniques as they help you improve.
- Spend the evening at Magura editing your pictures, having dinner and relaxing.

Day 3: Zarnesti and Plaiul Foii expand_more
Start the day with breakfast.
Head to the town of Zarnesti, situated at the foot of the Piatra Craiului mountains.
Participate in a themed photo session called 'The Gates of Transylvania', where you will creatively photograph the ornate metal and wooden gates and fences surrounding Zarnesti homes while including other workshop participants as subjects in your photographs. This session is also a wonderful way to explore the town's culture while enhancing your photography skills.
Make your way to Plaiul Foii. This area features the longest and highest limestone ridge in the country, at over 15 miles long and 6560 feet high. The ridge is regarded as one of the most beautiful sights in the Carpathian ranges and is another great location for a shoot. In this area, you can also see beautiful thoroughbred horses, which are great to photograph.
Conclude the workshop with a final editing session at Plaiul Foii before heading back to your accommodation.
