Climb aboard this short 1-day tour of the historical, archaeological site of Chavin de Huantar. Enjoy scenic drives and make stops along the way on gorgeous sites like the Lake Querococha as you pass by the serene River Santa and local villages.     • Depart at 8 am from our private bus station, which will lead to the millenarian capital of archaeology - Chavin de Huantar.

    • Start driving through the south side of Huaraz, passing by villages of Recuay 3300masl. Cross the Santa river to the left side of a typical town of Huacapampa.

    • Continue by the eucalyptus trees, passing the sheepherders villages. Drive along the highlands full of pastures and straws by a small valley, and visit the Querococha lake at 3980masl.

    • Stop for a photo of the beautiful landscape.

    • Continue up to the highest pass of Tunnel de Cahuish at 4500 masl, the critical point for the hydrographical division where the west side water flows to the Pacific ocean and east side water flows to the Atlantic Ocean. The ruins are located next to the modern district of Chavin.

    • Arrive at 1 pm and immediately go to a restaurant for lunch until 2 pm.

    • Then enter the castle of Chavin on a guided tour which takes place for about two hours.

    • Inside the ruins, you will visit many labyrinthine rooms and in one of the main buildings are the Lanzon, the Chavin and a big stone carved remains of the Pre-Inkas. There are many places and things to visit and observe, such as plazas, caves, main porch and many others.

    • The guided tour will be finished around 4 pm. Depart for a non-stop drive back to Huaraz for about 3 hours by the same way.

    • Arrive around 7 pm directly to our bus Station in Huaraz.
