Description

Conquer the beautiful mountain of seven colours. In contrast to the blue sky forming a formidable barrier between the desert of the coast and the Amazon rainforest, and dominated by the beautiful snowy Ausangate, this mountain tour will give you the best of nature and its beauty.

  • Cusco - Vinincunca expand_more

    • Depart from Cusco as we pick you up from your hotel at 4 am.

    • Drive for around 3 hours until we reach Chilca.

    • Savour our Andean breakfast at approximately 7:00 am.

    •  Begin trekking in the quiet and remote landscapes of the Cusquenian Puna. Trek at your own pace, enjoying the flora of the Andes and breathing in the pure Andean air.

    • Witness along the trail untouched nature, with a few Andean communities scattered in the mountains.

    • Cross mountains, small streams and be under the constant tutelage of the Apu Ausangate.

    • Reach Vinicunca’s summit. The dazzling view of Rainbow Mountain will leave you speechless.  Once at the top, you will have enough time to take photographs.

    • Walk back to the community of Pitumarca where a car will be waiting to take you back to Cusco.

    • Return to Cusco approximately at 7 pm; end of tour.

Know before you go

  • We will have all food prepared and ready for you to enjoy, prior to the day’s trek

  • We recommend that you reach Cusco (or another high-elevation city) 2 to 3 days before your departure for the trek. To avoid headaches, digestive issues, etc., we would recommend bringing your medicine of choice: Midol, Pepto Bismol, Tums, etc. and drink plenty of water or coca tea once you are in Cusco or any other high-elevation city

  • Avoid consuming alcohol before the hike and avoid cigarettes
