Description

Land in Kathmandu and make your way to Pokhara, the starting point of this trek. The Ghorepani Poon Hill trek will introduce you to snow-capped peaks, lush green hills, villages, and the Gurung culture.

  • Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu expand_more
    • Meet the representatives at the arrival gate of the International Airport to transfer to your hotel. Today, you will meet your trekking guide and learn about your daily activities. 
    • Enjoy a welcome dinner organized by our company in the evening. 
    • Spend the night at a hotel.
  • Day 2: Kathmandu to Pokhara expand_more
    • Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara, which will take about 5-6 hours. The drive goes through the middle hills road of Prithvi Highway, which is one of the finest long drives you can ever have. The drive to Pokhara is more than just a simple bus ride. You can explore the countryside villages, famous religious sites and amazing views along the way. You can have a glimpse of picturesque villages and the lifestyles of people outside the city on your ride to Pokhara.

  • Day 3: Pokhara - Nayapul - Tikhedunga (1540m) expand_more
    • Prepare for the beginning of the original trek. Drive one hour to Nayapul, then trek to Tikhedhunga. On your trek, you will pass by a stream and then reach Birenthanti, where you will rest for a while. There are several tea houses in Birenthnti. You can also have fantastic views of mountains framed with rhododendron trees. 
    • Make a steep ascent from here to Tikhedhunga.

  • Day 4: Thikhedhunga - Ghorepani (2853m) expand_more
    • Have breakfast at Tikhedhunga and start the trek with a steep ascent to Ulleri. You can have wonderful views of the snow-capped peaks, lush green hills, villages and some donkeys on your way. The spectacular views of Mt. Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Ranges are the major highlights of today’s trek.
    • Today is one of the hardest days of the Ghorepani Poonhill Trek.
    • The trek to Ghorepani is around 6 hours, walking through beautiful forests, nice villages, and villagers.

  • Day 5: Ghorepani - Poonhill - Banthanti - Tadapani (2610m) expand_more
    • Reach the destination on the fifth day of the Ghorepani Poonhill Trek. Have your breakfast at Ghorepani. Then you hike up 45m to Poon Hill for a sunrise view. From there, you can see the sensational view of the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri ranges, Nilgiri, and Fishtail. 
    • Return to Ghorepani, then trek to Banthanti via Tadapani for 4/5 hours.

  • Day 6: Tadapani - Ghandruk village (1960m) expand_more
    • Have your breakfast at Tadapani and then you will trek to Ghandruk for 3 hours walking through jungle and downhill. Ghandruk is one of the biggest Gurung villages in Nepal. They have their own language, dress, typical foods and houses. Explore the village and explore the culture and lifestyles of the Gurung people.

  • Day 7: Ghandruk - Pokhara expand_more
    • Trek back to Nayapul from Ghandruk after having your breakfast at Ghandruk. The trek today is about four hours from Ghandruk to Nayapul. 
    • Drive to Pokhara, which takes about 1 hour. Upon reaching Pokhara, you can enjoy the evening boat ride at Phewa Lake.

  • Day 8: Pokhara - Kathmandu expand_more
    • Fly back to Kathmandu in the morning. The whole day is free in Kathmandu. You can utilize your free day by roaming or shopping around the city. The guides will help you if you need help with shopping or sightseeing.

  • Day 9: Departure from Kathmandu expand_more
    • After breakfast, you will be free until departure. Then you will be dropped off at Kathmandu Airport by our representative.
