Tour across the desert and visit the palm date oasis, neolithic cave art, historic mosques and neighbourhoods and private libraries, look at the enchanting rock paintings of Amogjar.

  • Day 1- Nouakchott - Atar expand_more
    • Travel to Atar from Nouakchott, which takes about 5 h 29 min (438. 9 km)
    • Then, stop for tea in Akjoujt 3h 25 min (259. 7 km)
    • When we arrive at Atar, we will visit the city center and the main market.
    • Afterwards, proceed to the main mosque in Atar.
    • Later on, head to Azougi, which was an essential stop on the trans-Saharan trade.

    Overnight in a hotel at Atar.

  • Day 2- Ouadane expand_more
    • Travel to Ouadane (3 h 7 min; 180. 1 km)
    • Take a short stop at the rock paintings of Amogjar.
    • In Ouadane, we will discover the Richat structure.
    • Then, have lunch and move to the old mosque and houses.

    Overnight in Ouadane.

  • Day 3- Chinguetti expand_more
    • Head to Chinguetti, which takes about 3 to 4 hours of desert driving.
    • Have lunch in the hotel in Chinguetti.
    • Discover the beauty of the city by visiting the old mosque and libraries.
    • Enjoy the sunset on the dunes near the city.

    Overnight in the hotel.

  • Day 4- Chinguetti - Nouakchott expand_more
    • Move back to Nouakchott.
    • Stop in Mherith oasis of palm trees.
    • Have lunch in Terjit oasis.
    • Finally, we will arrive in Nouakchott.
