    • Know that out of 9 baobab species identified globally, and there is only one in the entire African continent. Seven species are identified in Madagascar, and six out of them are endemic. The one symbolic of Diego Suarez is the Adansonia Suarezensis.

  • Day 6: Diego - The 3 Bays expand_more
    • After breakfast, depart to visit the three bays. These three famous bays are formed by Dune Bay, Pigeon Bay and Sakalava Bay. They are all known for their beautiful white-sand beaches contrasting with the sea's turquoise and are popular destinations for tours and excursions.
    • The three bays are connected by a sandy road and a footpath that runs along the coast. This path allows explorers who do not wish to be guided to walk easily to discover the magnificent view of the landscape or to listen to the sound of waves and birds.

  • Day 7: Diego - The Red Tsingy - Ankarana expand_more
    • After breakfast, depart to The Red Tsingy, sedimentary formations composed of sand and marl, laterite and limestone. Red Tsingy is the result of a unique geological phenomenon in Madagascar. The erosion of the red sandstone has led to the formation of these ephemeral structures carved according to the whims of the wind and the rain, which offers us a magical landscape of all beauty. The rock composition allows stunning light play throughout the day, depending on the sun's orientation.

  • Day 8: Ankarana National Park expand_more
    • After breakfast, depart to visit the National Reserve of Ankarana, a park of great adventures between wild and mystical nature.  It is also the largest underground network in Africa. The Ankarana National Reserve, covering an area of 18,225 ha, is the western extension of a limestone massif of the Middle Jurassic that emerges from a basaltic plain located 50 m above sea level. The plateau, which is a strongly eroded karst formation on the surface, is made up of a Tsingy lapiaz. It offers diversified vegetation between the oily plants that grow on the high and arid Tsingy while in the canyons; wetter and sheltered from drought grow the fig trees, baobabs and other trees of height typical of the dry forest. Canyon forests are favourite places to see, lemurs with these 11 species among them the famous lemur with a crowned head whose male has a dark brown fur.

    • Arrive in Ankify and embark on the speed boat to reach Nosy Be.

  • Day 10: Nosy Be - Nosy Komba island and Nosy Tanikely island expand_more
    • Depending on the tide, make your first stop at Nosy Komba also called the Lemurs Island, an island cut off from civilization to see the lemurs and visit the traditional fishermen village of Ampangorina. 
    • Head for Tanikely Island, a protected marine reserve ideal for snorkelling through coral, anemones and myriad of colourful fish before climbing to the lighthouse for a 360° view of the archipelago.

Know before you go
  • The domestic flight cost is 230 euros per person per way.
  • The park is a 23,010 ha protected area complex, including 18,200 ha for the National Park and 4,810 ha for the Special Amber Forest Reserve. It is a volcanic massif covered with forest stretching from 850 to 1,475 m above sea level. Six lakes and several rivers criss-cross are found here. The Amber and mountain forest is a high place of endemicity with 77 species (35 endemics like the Pygargue, with a wingspan of 2m), seven species of lemurs and 24 species of amphibians, about 50 species of reptiles, many batrachians and butterflies.
