Description

Appreciate the mountains, historical monuments and Berber villages on the back of a camel and see the places where movies like Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and Alexander were filmed. A Moroccan trip from Merzouga to Fez is just the perfect way to know the Sahara Desert.

  • Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas – Ait Banhaddo Kasbah – Ouarzazate city – Roses Valley – Bomalene Dades expand_more

    • Pick-up from hotel or airport in Marrakech.

    • Proceed towards the Dades Valley. 

    • Pass through Tizi-Tichka in the High Atlas Mountains, and pause to appreciate the mountain's views. 

    • Visit the Ait Banhaddo Kasbah, which is recognized by UNESCO as a world patrimony, famous as a backdrop for many films, including 'Lawrence of Arabia', 'Gladiator', and 'Alexander'. 

    • Eat wholesome lunch here, before continuing the drive.

    • Enjoy the natural beauty of the landscapes and historical monuments, such as Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate city, and Roses Valley, which is renowned for the Festival of Roses. 

    • Pass through the little Berber villages of Skoura and El Kelaa des M’Gouna’, and the green Dades Valley. 

    • Dinner and overnight in Bomalene Dades (Bed+Dinner+Breakfast).

  • Day 2: Bomalene Dades – Todra Gorge – Sahara Desert Merzouga expand_more

    • Post breakfast, go from Bomalene Dades to the Sahara Desert of Merzouga. Berber villages are scatted along the way. 

    • Pass through Tinjdad, Jorf, Erfoud, and Rissani to see and feel the beginning of Sahara Oasis of Tafilalt. 

    • Continue to Merzouga Desert.

    • After relaxing for a few minutes, prepare to ride on camels for an adventure amidst the sand dunes. Spend the night in a well-equipped camp with drums and music in the middle of the Sahara Desert. This is a great opportunity  to take lovely pictures of the sunset and sunrise. 

    • Arrive at the camp, and go to the high dunes to see the sunset.

          Spend the night in nomad tents (Bed+Dinner+Breakfast).

  • Day 3: Merzouga Desert – Erfoud – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Azrou – Ifrane – Fes expand_more

    • Wake up early morning to enjoy the sunrise on the top of the dune in the Sahara Desert. 

    • Return to have breakfast. 

    • Ride on a camel to the hotel and take a shower.

    • Depart for Errachidia via Erfoud, Aoufous, and the Valley of Ziz. 

    • Stop for a panoramic view of the oasis Aoufous in the Tafilalt region in continuation to Midelt across the pass of Tizi N’talghamt, where the group will stop for lunch.

    • Post lunch, be driven to Fes (the medieval city) via the Cedar forest near Azrou city and the mountain of the middle Atlas with a possibility to see Barbary apes (monkeys).

    • Possible stop in Ifrane (the Switzerland of Morocco) before arriving at Fez. 

    • Drop off at the hotel or airport in Fes.
