• Pick up from the airport, where the friendly Sri Lanka driver-guide will welcome you.

• Transfer to the Cultural Triangle, located not far from the airport, so that you can relax after a long journey.

• Have breakfast at the hotel, then visit Polonnaruwa. This ancient city is rich in monasteries and Buddhist remains of old kingdoms. The most interesting of all would be the 'Gal Vihara', meaning the Rock Temple.

• Visit one of Asia's most spectacular cultural sites in the afternoon, the Sigiriya Rock Fortress (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Only the fit and adventurous will climb the summit, but all can enjoy the ancient ruins and beautiful sights near the base and on a half hike. It's home to water gardens, frescoes and ancient graffiti.

Overnight stay in Dambulla / Habarana.

• Have breakfast, then depart to the cultural triangle at the island's centre in the morning.

• Visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, the UNESCO World Heritage site and the most impressive cave temple in Sri Lanka.

• Transfer to Kandy with your Sri Lankan tour guide.

• On the way to Kandy, visit Matale Aluvihare Temple where Buddhist doctrines were first documented on Ola leaves in the 1st century after passing through orally from generation to generation and visit Spice Garden at Matale.

• Explore the UNESCO World Heritage site, The Temple of the Sacred Tooth. See how the famous Blue and Star sapphires are mined, cut, and polished using traditional methods.

• End the day enjoying a culture show in Kandy.

• Explore the city of Kandy and its beautiful lake, colourful streets, colonial architecture, museums, arts and crafts workshop, oriental market place and a bazaar.

Stay overnight in Kandy.

• After a good breakfast at the hotel, visit the Peradeniya Botanical garden in the morning, well-known for its collection of over 4000 species of plants, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees.

• Head to the elephant orphanage in Pinnawela, established in 1975, commenced with seven orphans. Today some of these orphans enjoy the fortune of seeing their grandbaby elephants born in the exact location.

• Later, depart to Negombo.

Stay overnight in Negombo.

• Get transferred to the Katunayake International airport. You can relax in the morning at your hotel, refresh and prepare to leave Sri Lanka.
