After an early breakfast, drive to Sembalun with the driver.

Register at Rinjani Trek Center in Sembalun (1,156 m) before commencing the trek. 

Start the trek. The trek initially passes through undulating open grassland as it winds up the mountain. 

After about 1 hour of walking, reach position 1 for a short break and have some light meals.

Continue to position 2 and stop for lunch for 2 hours. 

After lunch, continue the journey, about 45 minutes.

Reach position 3 and take a short break.

Walk up to the Sembalun Crater Rim (approx 3 hours). 

Reach the rim around 4:00 pm and camp a night on the rim

Wake up in the early morning (2:00 am) and have some bread and tea or coffee.

Get ready for the summit at 2:30 am. The first part will be hard enough because we will climb up over the sandy and quite steep up the trail for about 1 hour. The next part will be easier about an hour of passing kind of plate trail. The last 1 hour will be the hardest part.

Go back to camp for breakfast. 

After breakfast, continue the journey and go down to Segara Anak Lake to enjoy the hot spring and have lunch on the lakeshore.

After lunch, start the trek to Senaru Crater Rim and walk up over quite steep up and rocky trail for about 2 and a half hours. 

Reach the rim before sunrise. Senaru Crater Rim is also the best place to witness the lake view and sunrise.

Camp for a night in this area

Enjoy the breakfast set up by the crew at 7:30 am. 

After breakfast, continue the trek to Senaru Village. 

Have lunch in position 2 and arrive at Senaru Village around 1:00 pm. 

Head to the next destination with the help of the driver.
