The Cathedral is one of the oldest church standing before the mosque, so the area has a history since the Dutch era in the region. This is neo-gothic church was consecrated in 1901 having been rebuilt at same location. The Jakarta Cathedral is located near Merdeka square, presidential palace and in front of Istiqlal mosque.
    • On our way to Chinatown, we have two picturesque stops at the Presidential Palace and the National Monument. The national monument is a 132m tall structure like an obelisk in the center Merdeka square, built to commemorate the struggle Indonesia independence. We stop here for 15 minutes.

Chinatown has a bustling market and monuments like the old pagoda which was built in 1650. It is the largest Chinatown in the country. From here, we will take a Tuk Tuk (or a car as per your preference) to the Old Town.
    • After arriving by Tuk Tuk or car at the Old town Batavia, the guide will fully explain in details about Batavia history, a reminder of the centuries of Indonesian colonization history dominated by Europeans. Immerse yourself in the architecture of the European and Chinese Style Buildings.
    • Our next stop is The Fatahillah museum which is located in south side of Fatahillah Square (former Batavia city square) near Wayang Museum. The building is believed to be modeled after Dam Palace. The building where the museum is established was formerly the city hall of Batavia, the Stadhuis. The first Stadhuis was finalized in 1627 in the location of the present building. The construction of this building was continued in 1649. In 1707, the building was renovated as again, the result is the present structure. The renovation was completed in 1710 and the building was inaugurated by Governor General Abraham van Riebeeck as the administrative headquarter of the Dutch East India Company.
    • We move on to Makutharama Puppet studio next in the Old town, some of the buildings here were built here for kantor/official workspaces, church and bank, now used as a museum, studio and cafe. Here we will learn how to make puppet and playing in 9 minutes shows if we have time and if you are interested to have good souvenirs.
    • Our last stop The Sunda Kelapa Harbour or the Old Harbour is not so far from old town, this was the route taken by the colonizers to enter the city. This is a very old and one of the biggest harbour in the country constructed in the 15th century dominated by Asian ethnic before the Europeans.
