Trek in Sankabar, Geech and Imet Gogo to witness amazing views of the landscape and get a chance to observe the native wildlife as you pass by the beautiful Jinbar waterfall. Marvel at the spectacular views from Imet Gogo, see more indigenous birds and observe the lifestyle of Geech villagers as you make your way back to Gondar.

  • Day 1: Travel from Gondar to Sankabar expand_more
    • Drive from Gondar to Debark to obtain a permit from the Park headquarters and collect our obligatory scout before continuing to Sankaber for the first overnight camp. 
    • Begin the trek at Buytras (Simien Lodge), and walk to the Sankaber campsite while trying to get a look at Gelada baboons.
  • Day 2: Continue to Geech expand_more
    • Walk to Geech via the spectacular Jinbar waterfall, then descend to the Jinbar Wenz before continuing to the Geech Village campsite. 
    • Admire great views of the mountains, the giant lobelia plants, and witness the lovely sunset from the nearby Kedadit summit.
  • Day 3: Return to Gondar expand_more
    • Trek from Geech to the Imet Gogo promontory for one of the most spectacular views in the whole mountain range. You can also get to see the magnificent Lammergeier vultures. 
    • Walk from Imet Gogo back to the road near Ambaras village for the drive back to Gondar.
