Embark on this trek to the highest viewpoint of Arenal Volcano as you walk down a jungle staircase, a high suspension bridge and end up at the La Fortuna waterfall at a canyon's end. Continue to the Malaku Indians' village and visit a butterfly garden and frog pond. Go through a forest, climb up the slopes of Arenal and arrive at its highest viewpoint.

    • You will be picked up from your location and go on a short drive to get to the departure point.
    • Hop on a tractor cart that takes you uphill to a panoramic viewpoint. 
    • Trek down a jungle staircase. 
    • Reach a high suspension bridge halfway down to walk on it.
    • Go further down the huge canyon shaped by a mega volcanic eruption.
    • Continue to the canyon's end and see the spectacular La Fortuna waterfall. Be amazed by the lush vegetation on its 70-meter high wall, the enormous Vulcanic rocks at its foot and the amount of water splashing down in its massive pool. 
    • Stay there for some time to bask in its beauty, and the brave ones can go and take a super refreshing dip.
    • Get back to the viewpoint and walk down to the village of the Maluku Indians to rest in their Palenke (main house) and listen to an exciting story about their culture, art and history.
    • Enjoy a warm lunch at a local restaurant. (Next to the restaurant, there is a butterfly garden and frog pond that you can explore till the food is served)
    • After lunch, take a 15-minute ride to the park at the foot of the Arenal volcano. 
    • Start on a trail through the primary forest, where you can see big trees with massive roots, various birds, monkeys, sloths, and coatis.
    • Cross the farmland to reach a green lake. 
    • Pass a cemetery of the victims of the volcanic eruption in 1968 to reach the wall of Lava. 
    • Go up some steep steps to arrive on top of the enormous mass of lava rocks.
    • Follow a trail that is cut out through the rocks and climb your way up the slopes of the Arenal.
    • Reach the highest viewpoint around the volcano and absorb the most spectacular panoramic views.
    • Look around and see the Lake Arenal, jungle, the valley, lava fields, and then see the Arenal towering over you.
    • Arrive at the natural hot springs resort to relax in its soothing warm water for an hour and enjoy a complimentary cocktail.
    • You will be taken to your hotel around 7 pm.
