Know before you go
  • Timing and assembling for the palace are flexible; it could be changed because of traffic during the tour.
  • There could be incredible traffic in Dhaka. Sometimes you must wait a long time without moving in every block of the road. 
  • Bengali local food is spicy in nature. Biriyani and Khichuri, made with rice, meat, and special spices, are the famous food of Old Dhaka. 
  • Modest clothes are required to visit, and mosque, shorts are not allowed for the purpose, and women must cover their hair and arms with clothes. 
  • Ahsan Manzil and National museum is closed on Thursday and opens Friday at 3:00 pm. Lalbagh Fort is closed on Sundays and opens on Mondays at 2:00 pm. Ahsan Manzil and Lalbagh Fort are also closed on Government Holidays. But you can have an outside view of these palaces.
