Description

Sign up for this excursion to visit the most important penguin reserve in Latinamerica, Punta Tombo, a long, narrow peninsula on Argentina’s central coast and home of Magellanic penguins. Enjoy the magnificent experience of Commerson’s dolphin watching in its natural habitat, Playa Union. Spot several other species of animals and birds such as guanacos, choiques, Patagonian maras and foxes.

    • Our excursion starts at 7:30 AM. Passengers are picked up at their hosting. 
    • The first stop is Puerto Rawson, Playa Unión, at 9:00 AM – Optative. See Commerson’s dolphin watching navigation, the smallest dolphin in the world. We have to remember that these animals are friendly and playful, they live in liberty, so our navigation patrons will do what is possible to find them. The duration of this excursion lasts for about 1 hour approximately.
    • After that, we will move to Punta Tombo, a geographical accident that serves as a habitat for Magellanic penguins. The estimated time on the reserve is about 1:30 – 2:00 hours.
    • There we will have time to observe from the coast how gulls, skuas, giant petrels, cormorants, oystercatchers and steamer ducks coexist and, given the extension of the area, characteristic species such as guanacos, choiques, Patagonian maras and foxes.
    • The estimated return to the city is at 18:30. (For Cruise passengers, return times are adapted for each group)
