Description

This tour is created for nature and culture lovers. You will visit Zeus Cave, traditional villages, old windmills, Aposelemis dam and an olive oil factory where we will taste different kinds of local olive oils and enjoy traditional Cretan lunch. Another place we will also visit is Krasi village, with spectacular views and the 2,400 years old monumental of the nature Platanus Tree, the springs with fresh water, and if you are lucky, you can watch the bearded vulture. (Gypaetus barbatus). While driving to Lasithi Plateau, the driver guide will inform you of information and facts about tradition and the region's daily life. Meanwhile, you will have time to take amazing landscape photos.

    • The tour starts picking you up from your accommodation, hotel/port.
    • On the way to Lasithi Plateau, we will have the first stop for a welcome coffee and then visit Aposelemi Dam for a while. The driver guide will give you information about the dam and the drowned Sfedili village, and you will have time to take some photos.
    • In the entry of Lasithi Plateau, Lasithi pass, we will stop to visit old windmills, admire the breathtaking view, and take amazing photos that your friends will be jealous about.
    • While we are driving through Lasithi Plateau to get to Zeus Cave, you will enjoy the beauty of villages and nature.
    • You will visit an impressive and historical Cave, Zeus Cave. According to mythology, the father of the ancient Greek Gods, Zeus, was born here. You have to walk 10-15 minutes to get to Zeus Cave.
    • We will stop in the traditional taverna to enjoy Cretan lunch on returning to your accommodation.
    • After lunch, we will continue our tour by visiting Krasi village. Our last stop is visiting an olive oil factory in Malia, where you will have the opportunity to learn about how local people have produced olive oil since thousands of years ago and, of course, will taste different kinds of extra virgin olive oil in the region.
