The village is well known for its pottery which the visitors can purchase along with other items of traditional art from local craft shops. Margarites is worth exploring on foot and you will see beautifully decorated doors and walls which date back from the period of the Venetian occupation.

    • Head to Arkadi Monastery built on an altitude of 500 m on a plateau with olive groves, vineyards, pine, cypress, and oak trees. UNESCO has declared Arkadi a European Monument of Freedom.
