  • Fee for a car ride to Gergeti Trinity church (it's 70 GEL for one 7 seater car, about 26$). May need to change into a special vehicle to go on top of the mountain, so bring the fee just in case. 
  • Expenses for additional activities, personal shopping or entertainment
What to bring
  • Women need scarves to enter churches (to cover their heads).
  • Some cash on hand (about 100-200 Gel). In most places you can use a card to pay, but with street vendors, in places such as local markets, you'll still need to pay with cash, so I recommend bringing some cash. 
  • Jackets (its cold on top of the mountain), depending on the weather may need a raincoat or an umbrella.
  • Put on comfortable clothes and shoes for long drive and walk.
Know before you go
  • Georgia's Orthodox Christianity Customs:
    • Certain rules apply to entering churches in Georgia due to its Orthodox Christianity customs.
  • Women's Dress Code:
    • Prohibited clothing items for women include trousers, shorts, short skirts, or bare shoulders.
    • It's necessary for women to cover their heads with a scarf when entering a church.
    • Churches often provide wraparound dresses for borrowing, or women can wear long skirts or wrap a large scarf around themselves.
  • Men's Dress Code:
    • Men are not allowed to wear shorts or expose their bare shoulders when entering a church.
    • Full-length trousers and covered shoulders are required attire for men. Otherwise, they may be denied entry or asked to wear a wraparound dress.
    • Wearing any kind of hat inside a church is prohibited; men should remove their hats before entering.
  • Zhinvali Water Reservoir:

    • Location: Between Alevi, Gudamakari, and Kartli ridges.
    • Surface Area: 11.5 km².
    • Maximum Depth: 75 m.
    • Importance: Supplies drinking water to approximately half of Tbilisi's population.
  • Georgian Military Highway:

    • Length: Over 200 kilometers.
    • Connects: Tbilisi, Georgia with Vladikavkaz, Russia.
    • Historical Significance: Used since the 1st century BC for trade and invasion routes.
    • Modern Use: Main road connecting Russia with Georgia, Armenia, and Turkey.
    • Description: Winding road through mountains with sharp hairpin bends.
  • Gudauri Ski Resort:

    • Location: Caucasus mountains along the Georgian military road, elevation 2196 m above sea level.
    • Features: Ski slopes with maximum sun exposure, suitable for novice and professional skiers.
    • Infrastructure: 7 ski-lifts, reaching up to 3300 m above sea level, with a total ski run length of over 57 km.
  • Gergeti Trinity Church:

    • Construction: Likely built in the 14th century.
    • Location: Near the village of Gergeti, Stepantsminda, Georgia.
    • History: Originally part of the village of Gergeti, later joined with Kazbegi.
    • Name: Attributed to the location of the temple.
  • Gudauri Panorama (Friendship Monument):

    • Location: 120 km from Tbilisi, on the Georgian Military Highway.
    • Purpose: Built by the Soviet Union to celebrate 200 years since the Treaty of Georgievs.
    • Features: Soviet-style mosaics depicting Georgian and Russian heroes, farmers, and communist symbols.
    • Description: Circular balcony offering views of the Caucasus Mountains, hanging off a 600-meter cliff.
  • Ananuri Fortress:

    • Location: On the foreland by the Aragvi River, near Zhinvali water reservoir, approximately 70 km from Tbilisi, Georgia.
