Description

Explore the National Parks of Kenya, especially the not so popular ones like Tsavo West and Tsavo East. Tsavo East, the larger of the two, offers a vast and untapped arena of arid bush washed by azure and emerald meandering of Galana River. This tour enables you to witness the wildebeest migration and can be customized according to your needs.

Highlights
  • Explore the Tsavo East and Tsavo West National Parks
  • Admire the wildlife and birdlife at Amboseli & Lake Nakuru
  • Game drive through the famous Masai Mara National Reserve
  • Day 1: Nairobi to Tsavo East National Park expand_more
    • Leave Mombasa or Nairobi at 6:45 am and drives north towards the vast wilderness of Tsavo East, Kenya's oldest and largest park. It is guarded by the limitless lava reaches of the Yatta plateau and patrolled by some of the largest elephant herds.
    • Arrive at the lodge in good time for early lunch after an introductory game in this park.
    • Enjoy game viewing or explore the park in the late afternoon, around 4.30 p.m. Spot elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, kudus, zebras and wildebeest.

Dinner and overnight stay at the Aruba lodge or similar to standard. The meal plan includes Lunch and Dinner.

  • Day 2: Tsavo East to Tsavo West National Park expand_more
    • Leave for Tsavo West National Park for lunch at Kilaguni Serena lodge.
    • Visit the most iconic attraction in the park, Mzima Springs. The crystal-clear water of this chain of lakes is filtered through the volcanic rocks of the Chyulu Hills just to the north. Shaded by majestic fig and acacia trees, the lakes swarm with fish, large crocodiles, and some big pods of hippos.
    • Enjoy the experience of being on safari in Tsavo West, which is very different from a safari in Tsavo East or a Masai Mara safari, where you often have views across the wide-open country. Tsavo West safaris are more about unexpected sights as you turn a bend on a wooded track.
    • Admire the outstanding birdlife in the park. If you’re on a birdwatching safari, you’ll be knocked out by the number of sightings you have. The white-headed buffalo weaver is a particularly noticeable species, with its prominent bright red rump, and there are at least eight recorded hornbill species here.

The meal plan includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

  • Day 3: Tsavo West National Park to Amboseli National Park expand_more
    • Go for a game drive in the park, including a visit to Mzima springs where Hippos, crocodiles, and various species of fish can be seen in the crystal-clear waters.
    • Proceed to Amboseli game park. Amboseli is the plain area below Mount Kilimanjaro. The waters from melted snow drain down the mountain under lava flows and surface in Amboseli, creating a green belt of swampland amidst dusty plains. Here, hippo, elephant, and birdlife can be seen against the backdrop of the magnificent snow-capped mountain.
    • Enjoy a picnic lunch en-route arriving in good time for afternoon and evening game viewing in this park.

Dinner and overnight at the Amboseli Kibo safari camp. The meal plan includes Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

  • Day 4: Amboseli National Park to Lake Nakuru National Park expand_more
    • Depart Amboseli for Lake Nakuru National Park. Lunch served en route.
    • Continue to Lake Nakuru National park only to arrive in the late afternoon. This park has more than 25 eastern black rhinoceros, one of the country's largest concentrations; there are also several Rothschild's giraffes, again relocated for safety from western Kenya beginning in 1977. Waterbucks are very common, and both the Kenyan subspecies are found here. Among the predators are lions, cheetahs, and leopards, the latter being seen much more frequently in recent times.
    • Check-in and relax by cooling your body in the swimming pool if you so wish at no extra cost.
    • Proceed to the park at around 16:00 hrs for a game viewing which is 188 km2, and is best known for its thousands, sometimes millions of flamingos nesting along the shores.

The rest of the evening shall end at the Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge on a full board basis.

  • Day 5: Lake Nakuru National Park to Masai Mara Game Reserve expand_more
    • Depart from Lake Nakuru for Masai Mara Game reserve and enjoy a lunch en-route.
    • Arrive in Maasai Mara, relax, and after the sun has cooled down, proceed for a game drive in search of black manned lions, elephants, leopard, cheetah, buffalo, and other plains game.

Return to the Keekorok Lodge late in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

  • Day 6: Masai Mara Game Reserve expand_more
    • Set aside a whole day for game viewing in Kenya's finest wildlife park, the Masai Mara National Reserve.
    • Admire the wildlife such as Masai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, bat-eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyena, topis, impala, hartebeests, wildebeest. Spot elephants, buffalos, zebras, and hippos are also found in great numbers. It is also common to see lions basking after a heavy meal or surveying the plains for their next meal. Cheetahs and leopards are harder to spot but reasonably common.
    • Hopefully, you can witness the annual wildebeest exodus, the Great Migration, in July and August when millions of these grazers move north from the Serengeti.

Overnight at the same lodge inside the park.
