  • Day 1: Addis Ababa - Bahir Dar expand_more
    • Transfer to the airport from Addis Ababa for an early flight to Bahir Dar. Have breakfast and pay a morning visit to the medieval churches of Ura Kidane Miheret on the Zege Peninsula (Lake Tana).
    • Return to Bahir Dar for lunch and in the afternoon drive 37 kilometres to the small town of Tis Abay to visit the Blue Nile Falls.
    • Head back to Bahir Dar for an overnight stay. You could visit cultural nightclubs that display folkloric dances nightly or choose to call it a day. 
  • Day 2: Bahir Dar - Gondar expand_more
    • Drive to Gondar after breakfast. Once there, head for a cultural restaurant in the town to have a taste of the local food and drink.
    • In the afternoon you will visit the Royal Castles of Gondar, the Bath of Emperor Fasiledes, and Debrebirhan Selassie Church with its magnificent paintings.
  • Day 3: Gondar - Simien Mountains - Gondar expand_more
    • Day trip driving to the Simien Mountains National Park, one of the first natural sites in the world registered by UNESCO. Here you will have the chance to see up-close and click pictures of, a troop of the endemic Gelada Baboon. Despite being home of some of the endemic mammals in Ethiopia, Simien Mountains National Park has breathtaking scenery that gives you a chance to relax and hike. Drive back to Gondar in the afternoon, where you could spend the evening at leisure.
  • Day 4: Gondar - Lalibela expand_more
    • Fly to Lalibela in the morning and explore the 11, rock-hewn Churches of Lalibela. By far one of the most visited religious sites, Lalibela was built by King (Saint) Lalibela who set out to create a 'New Jerusalem' when Muslim conquests had halted Christian pilgrimage in the area. Spend this night in a hotel in Lalibela.
  • Day 5: Lalibela - Addis Ababa expand_more
    • Head towards Addis Ababa where you could spend half a day visiting some interesting sites in the city like 'Mercato', which is the largest market in Africa. Or, you could go to coffee and souvenir shops in the city. In the evening you will be our guest in one of the cultural restaurants in Addis Ababa to see a variety of Ethiopian traditional dances while enjoying the country’s most delicious food and drinks. Then you will be transferred to the airport or your accommodation.

What to bring
  • Most places in Ethiopia are free of malaria as they are located in areas higher than 2000 meters above sea level. However, bring mosquito repellents for your convenience. 
  • While walking outdoors, it's advised that you have sun-blocks on; so you need to bring sun-blocks.


Know before you go
  • Coming to Ethiopia, visitors should have tourist visa. Regarding how to obtain a visa, please follow the link: https://www.evisa.gov.et/visa-types/tourist-visa/online-tourist-visa
  • Be advised to cover your head (esp. for females) and your body while visiting religious places.
  • Ethiopia has unique cuisine, the most famous is a flat bread known as ‘injera’ prepared from a gluten free grain ’teff’ served with a variety of stews and hot sauces.
  • Ethiopia also requires a yellow fever vaccination certificate for travelers aged 9 months or older arriving from countries with risk of yellow fever transmission and for travelers having transited for more than 12 hours through an airport of a country with risk of yellow fever transmission
  • Cancellation policy/ default and payment can be both by cash or card


The following information is concerning precautions travelers should take while coming to Ethiopia in connection with Covid-19:

  • All passengers traveling to Ethiopia MUST present a negative PCR test certificate for COVID-19 before boarding a flight. The certificate validity shouldn’t exceed 120 hours on arrival from the date sample is given.
  • Children less than or equal to 12 years of age are exempted from the PCR test certificate requirement.
  • There shall be no COVID-19 test to be done on arrival at Addis Ababa. 
  • Rapid diagnostic test (RDT antibody test) certificate is not acceptable.
  • The above requirement does not apply to transit passengers.
