    • Start your journey from the small town of Berhale where the camel caravan stops before they proceed to the northern highlands.

    • Along your way, you may see many long camel caravans taking salt from the Danakil.

    • Drive to reach Hamad Ela, a village to enjoy the sunset at Dallol.

    Stay overnight camping at Hamed Ela.

  • Day 2: Dallol to Assal Lake expand_more

    • Go on a morning tour drive to Ragad (Asebo), the place salt mining takes place.

    • Look at the activity of breaking the salt from the ground, cutting it into rectangular pieces and loading it on camels. 

    • Proceed ahead to Dallol and visit the extreme landscape formed by volcanic activities: Dallol, Lake Assal, camel caravans. 

    • Excursion to Dallol, (116 meters below sea level, one of the lowest places in the world) for colourful salt mining.

    • Visit Lake Assal, and follow up camel caravans to meet the Afar people. 

    • Drive back to Hamed Ela and proceed to Mekele.
