Description

Visit the Mitad del Mundo complex and set off on a horseback riding adventure inside the crater. Walk through the stretches and head up the steep inner walls of the crater. Observe the wide variety of flora & fauna at the Pululahua Geobotanical Reserve. Journey through lush fields abundant with vegetation, where endemic forests of the region develop.

    • After a light snack, choose your horses and begin the ride.

    • Go around inside the crater for about 3 hours and end in the Pondoña Dome. 

    • At certain points along the way, you will walk in stretches and up the steep inner walls of the crater. 

    • Journey through lush fields abundant with vegetation, where endemic forests of the region develop. Stop and have lunch along the way.

    • Return to the ranch and leave your horses.

    • Head back to Quito.

Know before you go
  • Participants: 2 to 12 people, with or without experience in riding, are accepted. This is an adventure for everyone and does not require that participants be in strong physical condition.

  • Note: Clothing suitable for the tropical climate, rain, and cold as you will cross different climatic zones and the temperature drops very quickly in the evening or on cloudy days. 

  • In addition, it is suggested to bring items such as long-sleeve shirts, pants, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, rain gear and a jacket for cold weather, sports shoes or riding boots if available, (rubber boots are provided), flashlight, insect repellent, water bottle, camera, and charged batteries.
