Description

Discover Hamburg's historical and contemporary sites, a major port city in northern Germany connected to the North Sea by the Elbe River. It's crossed by hundreds of canals and also contains large areas of parkland. Near its core, Inner Alster lake is dotted with boats and surrounded by cafes.

This Private Hamburg City Tour is a wonderful option to explore our city. I have created this tour a couple of years ago and am constantly refining it, to give you the maximum experience of what Hamburg has to offer.

The sightseeing begins in front of the city hall.

We will pass through the City Hall, a neo-renaissance building with an impressive elaborate architecture, a reflection of Hamburg’s wealth and prosperity at the time.

Just a few steps away we’ll see the remains of the first port of Hamburg, the 12th century’s Nicolai-fleet.This private Hamburg City Tour tour will finally lead you back to the middle of the city center. See the ruins of the St. Nicholai church, destroyed during the second world war, it is preserved as a memorial to the victims of a war that redefined Western Europe.

Further down the way, we’ll see some historic and protected merchants’ residences

in our historic Deichstrasse. One of very few streets that remained in its original condition, the Deichstrasse presents a charming sight and opportunities to return for dinner, ice cream, or whiskey tastings.

We will jump off into the 19th century Warehouse District (which is now part of the UNESCO World Heritage) called Speicherstadt, where we’ll may be visit a coffee roastery

or sample spices in an old spice shop.

The next jump will follow into Europes most important city planning project: HafenCity. You will learn how modern city planning is going to be and see state-of-the art architechture.

This tour can end at our new concert hall: the Elbphilharmonie. After a lot information about the construction history you can go up to the platform to enjoy an amazing view over the port.
