Get close to nature and regional cultures through homestays at natives’ houses in Leticia alongside camping in forest areas in hammocks or on treetops. Relish traditional food, see riverside villages such as Islandia, Benjamín Constant, and cruise on the Javari River and Zacambu Lakes.

  • Day 1- Cultural interaction expand_more
    • Walk and do other activities in the secondary jungle with an option of visiting Malokas (common houses for meetings, rituals etc.). Tourists who arrive in Leticia earlier can start this trip at 9.00 am from Selvaventura.

    • (For tourists who arrive at Leticia the same day) Meet the tourists at the airport and transfer to Selvaventura in the center of Leticia. Then, revise the trip's plan and conditions, make payments for the trip, and check-in the luggage followed by fast lunch.

    • Transfer out of Leticia through the Tarapacá highway with a Columbian tour guide.

    • Pay a casual visit to a local house for an introduction to the indigenous cultures here. 

    • Observe coca chewing rituals, tobacco smoking and yagé drinking, try out traditional food and get acquainted with native agriculture and customs whilst listening to myths and legends. 

    • Have hammocks and mosquito nets arranged followed by traditional baths, cooking on open fire, dinner and go to bed.

  • Day 2- Jungle camping expand_more
    • After breakfast in the Maloca, go for a walk through a sparsely populated area of the jungle (about 4 hours). Arrangements for camping will be made including that of fire, hammocks with mosquito nets.

    • After lunch, explore the surrounding areas, whilst observing fauna and flora.

    • Dinner will be next followed by night activities including observing fauna and flora, fishing (depending on the season or water level).

    Overnight rest in hammocks.

  • Day 3- Canopy tours expand_more
    • After an early breakfast, take a walk to the highway followed by lunch.

    • Transfer to Agape Natural Reserve, bathe in the creek here.

    • Walk to a tree (15 minutes), climb up to the platform with the help of a rope and special safety equipment at the height of 35 m. Enjoy watching the sunset, birds and epiphytic flora.

    • After dinner, proceed for any activity of own choice including camping on the treetop platform (mats, blankets and mosquito nets) or one can climb down with a rope, go back to Agape Nature Reserve and settle there in shared rooms with beds and mosquito nets and outside shared bathrooms.

  • Day 4- Three Borders Tours (Colombia, Perú, Brasil) expand_more
    • After breakfast at Agape Natural Reserve, walk through the jungle to Tikuna de San Pedro community (approximately 1 hour) and then navigate on kayaks along the Yahaurcaca Creek/Lake (about 4 hours, during high water season).

    • Walk to the highway. Transfer to Puerto de la Cholita and (except very low water during September and October) navigate along the Yahaurcaca Creek/Lake for bird watching.

    • Arrive at Flor de Loto tourist place by the Amazon Riverbank and observe the Victoria Regia with a Columbian tour guide.

    • Embark on a private boat and navigate the great Amazon River towards Peru. Cross the flooded zone of the Peruvian jungle (during high water season from November until July), watch birds and other fauna of this zone (monkeys, lizards, sloths). Lunch will be on board.  Then, navigate to the Zacambu Lakes and the Javari River (the border between Peru and Brazil).

    • Visit the Don Jorge’s house (Brazilian-Peruvian family), a basic hostel in the native architecture style. Accommodation will be in rooms (outside shared bathrooms) or on the terrace in hammocks with gorgeous views of the lake.

    • Navigate across lakes and rivers, do fishing, observe dolphins, try out canoeing and visit the beaches here (during low water season).

    • Dinner (traditional domestic food) will be followed by night navigation and caiman watching.

    Overnight rest.

  • Day 5- Leticia, Tabatingas expand_more
    • Get back to Leticia/Tabatinga with an opportunity to visit some riverside villages, such as Islandia, Benjamín Constant, Santa Rosa (depending on the departure time of those who would have to fly from Leticia the same day).

    • Have breakfast and get back to Leticia/Tabatinga navigating the Javari River (when low water) between Peru and Brazil, going along the Amazon River upstream.

    If the tourists don't have to fly from Leticia the same day, the trip's navigating part could be extended until 5 pm, including lunch.
