Embark on this vacation, which is designed for travellers who are interested in discovering the cultural heritage of Cameroon. Discover the pygmy tribe inside the jungle of the Dja forest reserve, the Koma tribe on Mt Atlantika, the Mbororo tribe who tattoo their faces, Dawayos, Fulani and many more tribes. Visit the sultanate of Foumban, the Foumban craft market, and the chiefdoms and museums of Batoufam, Baham and Bandjoun.

    • Meet with your tour guide and check into the Baptist hotel in Yaounde.

  • Day 2; Yaounde to Somalomo expand_more
    • We will drive from Yaounde through Ayos, lunch at Ayos. 
    • Head to Messamena and then Somalomo. Entrance to the Dja forest reserve Overnight at the guesthouse of the park service.

  • Day 3; DJA forest reserve with pygmy tribe expand_more
    • We will take a short trek and then a boat ride on the river Dja to get to the pygmy camp. 
    • We will be welcomed by the villagers, and will later camp in tents.

    Activities with the pygmy:- singing and dancing. 

  • Day 4; DJA Forest Reserve expand_more
    • Spend a day full of activities with the pygmy, hunting, and traditional fishing with the pygmy women and they will showcase their traditional medicines to us. We take another night with the pygmy.
  • Day 5; Somalomo- Yaounde- Ngaoundere expand_more
    • On this day, we will say goodbye to our host and return to Somalomo and depart to Yaounde. 
    • Arrive in Yaounde and then we will depart at 7:15 pm by train to Ngaoundere. It's 13-15 hours on the train. 
  • Day 6; Yaoundetrain to Ngaoundere - Poli expand_more
    • Arrival in Ngaoundere around Midday, a 4x4 car will be waiting for us at the train station. 
    • We will go for lunch and we drive to Poli, while in Poli we check into a small hotel (municipal hotel Poli).
  • Day 7; Poli-Wangai - Koma tribe expand_more
    • We will leave Poli and drive through the Faro national park, the possibility to spot wildlife on our way. 
    • We will arrive in Wangai and we will start trekking Mt Atlantika to reach the Koma tribe. The trek is about 3 hours.  

    Overnight on camping tents.

  • Day 8; Activities with the Koma tribe expand_more
    • We will spend time with the Koma tribe to learn about their ways of life. Activities like singing and dancing. 

    Overnight in tents.

  • Day 9; Koma tribe-Wangai-Poli- Marka Mbororo camp expand_more
    • We will say goodbye to our host Koma community, and we will trek back to Poli and drive to the Marka Mbororo camp, overnight with tents.

    We will spend the night with the local Mbororo tribe who tattoo their faces. 

  • Day 10: Marka Mbororo tribe - Vina waterfalls, grotte du Kola and Lamidat palace. expand_more
    • Today, we will drive to Ngoundere and visit the Lamidat palace of Ngoundere, Gorges du Kola and the Vina waterfalls. 
    • Then, we will take a night train to Yaounde.
  • Day 11; Ngaoundere - Yaounde expand_more
    • Arrival in Yaounde in the afternoon, we will check into the hotel and relax. 
  • Yaounde- Batoufam- Foumban- Koutaba expand_more
    • We will depart by hired car to Bafoussam from Yaounde. 
    • On our way, we will stop by the beautiful and very big chiefs palace of the Batoufam community, we will continue to Bafoussam and then Foumban. 
    • We will visit the palace of the Foumban sultanate, a beautiful museum and a craft market. We will drive back to Koutaba and check into hotel Paradise. 
  • Day 13; Bandjoun - Baham- Dschang museum - Ekom nkam waterfalls expand_more
    • After breakfast, we will drive to Bandjoun's chiefdom to visit its palace and museum. Baham chiefdom to visit their museum and palace. 
    • We will head to the city of Dschang and visit the Civilization, the museum talks about the cultural history of Cameroon both post and pre-colonial. 
    • We will proceed to Melong and visit the Ekom nkam waterfalls which is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the country. We shall then drive to Mbouroukou village found at the foot of Mt Manengouba. We will check into the beautiful Muka park resort. 
  • Day 14; Mt Manengouba twin lakes- night with Mbororo on the mountain expand_more
    • After breakfast at the hotel, we hike for approximately 3 hours to visit the twin lakes of Mt Manengouba. 
    • We will later descend to the campement Mbororo, a cattle grazing village located up the mountain savanna. We will camp in tents with a Mbororo family. 
    • We will learn about their way of life and enjoy the good scenery with many cattle. We will also do a barbecue at night. 
  • Day 15; Melong- Douala expand_more
    • We will say goodbye to our host and descend back to Melong and drive to Douala, on our way we pass through many pineapple, papaya, banana, palms and rubber plantations. 
    • Arrive in Douala, and check into the hotel. 
  • Day 16; Departure expand_more
    • Drop off at the airport and depart from Cameroon.
