Enjoy the Winter W Trek in Parque Nacional Torres del Paine with local experiences. This park has mountains, glaciers, lakes, and rivers in the Southern Patagonia of Chile.   • Day 1: Puerto Natales/ Las Torres Lookout/Chileno Campground expand_more
    • 6:00 am: Depart from Puerto Natales and travel until Las Torres del Paine National Park with 2 hours driving at least.

    • 8:00 am: Arrive at Torres del Paine, and start the hike from Hosteria Las Torres until Chileno Camping ground, 4.5 km uphill. 

    • 9:30 am: Arrive at Chileno Campground; in this place, have some snacks and set up base camp and afterwards, keep going the rest of the way up.

    • 11:00 am: Start hiking up to the famous Las Torres Lookout, 4.5 km uphill. 

    • 13:30 pm: Arrive at the Torres Lookout; in this place, stay for an hour to enjoy the views and have lunch. 

    • 14:30 pm: Start the return to the base camp in Chileno. 

    • 16:30 pm: Arrive at Chileno Camping ground.

    • 18:00 pm: Eat dinner and receive brief instructions for the next day.

  • Day 2: Chileno Campground/ Italiano Campground expand_more
    • 7:30 am: Start from Chileno Campground until Italiano Campground, 21 km distance.

    • 9:00 am: Arrive at Laguna Inge, a stopover for snacks and pictures for 30 minutes.

    • 11:00 am: Arrive at Rio el Arriero, the place for rest and pictures.

    • 12:30 pm: Arrive at Los Cuernos Camping Ground; in this place, have lunch.

    • 13:30 pm: Start hike until Italiano Campground, a 5.5 km distance up and downhill.

    • 16:00 pm: Arrive at Italiano Campground at the beginning of the famous French valley; set up the base camp in this place.

    • 18:00 pm: Eat dinner and receive brief instructions for the next day.

  • Day 3: Italiano Campground/ Britanico Campground/ Paine Grande Refuge( French Valley) expand_more
    • 7:30 am: Start early morning from Italiano campground on the way uphill until Britanico Mountain Shelter, around a 6 km distance.

    • 8:30 am: Arrive at the first lookout on the way in front of the French Glacier; at that moment probably, it will still be dark and you will be able to see it better on the way back.

    • 10:00 am: Arrive at Britanico Mountain Shelter, a very basic shed made of lenga wood; won't stop here because there are no good views of the mountains.

    • 10:30 am: Arrive at Britanico Lookout; this place has one of the best views of the trip, and over here, stay for an hour for resting, lunchtime and pictures.

    • 11:30 am: Start the way back to base camp.

    • 13:00 pm: Arrive at the first lookout once again; at this moment, much better than the morning, the amazing French Glacier and the stunning Paine Grande Mountain.

    • 14:00 pm: Arrive at base camp; at this moment, set up base camp as fast as possible to take advantage of the sunlight for the rest of the way, and after setting up camp,  make a quick snack before starting.

    • 15:00 pm: Start the hike until Paine Grande Refuge, a 7.6 km distance.

    • 17:30 pm: Arrive at Paine Grande Refuge.

    • 19:00 pm: Eat dinner and receive brief instructions for the next day.

  • Day 4: Paine Grande Refuge/ Grey Glacier/ Paine Grande Refuge expand_more
    • 8:00 am: Start the hike from Paine Grande Refuge until the Grey Glacier Lookout, 11 km distance, and 22 km roundtrip.

    • 9:00 am: Arrive at Laguna Los Patos; at this place, make a quick stop for pictures.

    • 10:00 am: Arrive at the first Grey Glacier Lookout on the way, and at this area, stop for pictures and have some snacks.

    • 11:30 am: Arrive at the main Grey Glacier Lookout; at this place, stay an hour to enjoy the panoramic view and have deserved lunch.

    • 12:30 pm: Start the way back to Paine Grande Refuge, and consider that the way back is a bit harder because, at some points, the trail is steeper. During this part of the activities,  make stops in the places before the uphills for some rest.

    • 16:30 pm: Arrive at Paine Grande Refuge.

    • 18:00 pm: Eat dinner and receive brief instructions for the final day.

  • Day 5: Paine Grande Refuge/ Las Carretas Trail/ Administration Center Of Torres Del Paine expand_more
    • 9:00 am: Start the hike from Paine Grande Refuge on Las Carretas Trail, going south to the national park administration center, where a transfer will pick up.

    • 10:00 am: Arrive at Pehoe Lake Lookout place to rest and have pictures.

    • 11:30 am: Arrive at Las Carretas shelter place to have lunch.

    • 12:30 pm: Start the hike up to the administration center.

    • 14:30 pm: Arrive at the administration center, and from this place, start driving until Puerto Natales, 2 hours at least.

    • 16:30 pm: Arrive at Puerto Natales; at this place to drop off in the place where hosting.

    • 17:00 pm: End of services.

Know before you go
  • If you don't have the equipment, renting in Puerto Natales and buying the necessary food is possible.
  • It is necessary to gather on the day before departure for a brief instruction with the guide at the place where you are staying.

  • Consider that during wintertime; there are few hours of sunlight; one must have enough batteries for all activities.

  • Do not wear new shoes. 

  • Considering no restrooms are in the first two days, one must have a good quality plastic or paper bag to throw paper waste. 

  • There are no cellphone signals in the national park. 

  • It is possible to recharge electronic devices in Paine Grande Refuge.
