- Depart from Puerto Montt and head to Alerce Andino National Park, located about 40 km east on the Carretera Austral.
- Once inside the park, choose from the two options for hiking adventures.
- Option 1: Take a 4-hour walk through the Austral jungle rainforest to either the Millennial Alerce or Chaiquenes Lagoon.
- Option 2: Take a longer 6-hour hike along the Chaicas River to the Triangle Lagoon.
- After the hike, return to Puerto Montt.
- On the way back, make a stop at the viewpoint of Manuel Montt in Puerto Montt for a talk about the geography, demography, and history of the area.
