Visit The Royal Botanical Park, Lampelri, the first botanical park in Bhutan that forms the backdrop of the Dochula Pass. Apart from the rhododendrons in the botanical park, the other varieties of plants in the park consist of 115 species of ferns, large oak, magnolia and birch. Explore the birder's paradise and spot more than 200 different rare bird species.

    • Meet the tour guide after having an early breakfast, and start the journey from your hotel in Thimphu at 4 a.m. towards Dochula Pass to the village of Lampelri. The route ascends through forests of gigantic firs and various rhododendron trees. From the Pass, descend to this botanical park from an ancient trail.
    • Arrive at the botanical park, and with your guide and a bit of luck, you can be sure to see the Darjeeling Woodpecker, Brown Parrotbill, Bronzed Drongo, Gould’s Sunbird, Redheaded Bullfinch, Maroon-backed Accentor, Chest-tailed Minla, Great Barbet, Wall Creeper, Rufous-, Dark-breasted Rosefinch, Parrotbill, Red-vented Bulbul, Lesser Racket-tailed Drongo, Striated Laughingthrush and Rufousthroated Hill Partridge.
    • Capture these sights and return with many scenic photographs.
    • Drop off at your hotel between 6:00 to 6:30 p.m.
