Therefore during the total stay at Vil Uyana, which is an eco-friendly boutique hotel, explore the cultural triangle of Sri Lanka that includes some of the fascinating UNESCO Heritage sites out of the total in eight in Sri Lanka.
The Heritance Tea Factory was once exactly that before it was painstakingly converted into a four-star resort and arguably the finest hotel in the highlands.
Yala National Park, with a total protected area of 126,768 hectares, consists of scrub plains, lagoons and rocky sections and offers the broadest cross-section of the country's flora and fauna. In terms of game-viewing, this is probably the best place to see all of the 'big three': elephant, leopard and water buffalo.
Chaaya Wild is an appealing, eco-friendly game lodge scattered over 10 acres of scrub jungle bordering Yala National Park and the secluded south-east beaches. An atmosphere of rustic chic and excellent management make this 4-star property, upgraded from its former guise as Yala Village, the best accommodation in the area.
