  • Dusty roads and narrow footpaths wind through the untouched landscape. In the green, moist valleys, we'll see herds of goats, wild grasses, and distant Berber villages, along with the traditional sight of women and children collecting herbs in heavy 20-kilogram bundles.
  • After a while, we stop for a picnic under the shade of juniper trees near a spring.
  • We'll approach a small river at the start of the Assif n'Ait Usaden valley and continue to the village of Tizi Ussem (1850 m), then on to the summer village of Tamsoult, where we'll camp for the night. Overnight in tents.

Day 03

Hike to Toubkal Refuge

  • After breakfast, we head east for a moderately challenging hike along winding mule tracks to Tizi Aguelzim (3550 m).
  • Along the surrounding slopes, low-growing pines and intricate cedars in reddish-brown hues line the paths.
  • After another three hours of trekking southeast, we will reach the Toubkal refuge, located at the snowline at 3207 m. Overnight in the refuge/tents.

Day 04

Summit Mount Toubkal and Descend to Imlil

  • Today will be a busy day.
  • An early breakfast will prepare us to start the route around 6 a.m.
  • After a three-hour steep ascent, we reach the highest point in the Maghreb (which includes Algeria, Morocco, and Tunisia) - the summit of Toubkal.
  • On this wind-swept peak, you'll be rewarded with endless views of cliffs and valleys stretching back to the distant misty horizon. The panorama from here is simply breathtaking.
  • After a short rest, we head to Ikhibi Sud for a direct descent back to the refuge for a picnic.
  • After lunch, we'll head north along steep, zigzagging trails through the higher slopes of the Assif n'Isouhanem n'Uagouns valley to the Sidi Chamharush sanctuary.
  • Near a waterfall, there is a pilgrimage shrine likely from pre-Islamic culture, though it is forbidden for non-Muslims.
  • A further two hours of descent will take us to the village of Imlil, where most treks begin, before a transfer back to Marrakesh. Overnight in the hotel.
5
Day 05

Discover Marrakesh and Desert Camp Experience

  • Marrakesh is unique and fascinating. It is known as the soul of the Moroccan East.
  • The old city, surrounded by kilometers of walls, is an enormous open-air museum.
  • A fascinating tour will introduce you to the mysteries of Marrakesh and its main attractions: the Majorelle Garden, the elegant Bahia Palace, the bustling Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, and the mysterious neighborhoods of the Medina, the oldest part of the city. We'll share with you the traditions and cultural aspects of Morocco, its history, and its major cities.
  • During the tour, you may even learn to understand the mindset of the locals and the charm of this incredible country.
  • Lunch in a local restaurant with a traditional menu, followed by a meeting with the Berbers in one of the most beautiful deserts in the world.
  • We'll stay in luxurious tents with all amenities, enjoy a delicious dinner, and have the opportunity to gaze at the desert night sky. Lucky ones may even catch a falling star and make a wish! Overnight in luxury tents.

Day 06

Journey to the Legzira Beaches

  • The sandy strip along the Atlantic Ocean is famous for its unique natural stone arches - bright red archways leading into the azure waters of the ocean.
  • One of the arches was destroyed not long ago by the tide, but the rest remain intact. We'll head there after waiting for the tide to go out. Overnight in the hotel.

Day 07

Explore the Charm of Essaouira

  • Today, we'll travel to Essaouira, a city where stories of pirates and adventurers come to life at every corner.

Know before you go

We invite you to embark on a trekking adventure in Morocco, the most mysterious country on the African continent.

Our journey will take us to the Atlas Mountains, a stunning and sometimes harsh natural barrier between the arid Sahara Desert and the milder coastal climate of Morocco. This mountain range, beginning near the Atlantic Ocean in the city of Agadir and stretching in a jagged line northeast across the country, is home to many unique sites, the heritage of ancient civilizations, and some of the most beautiful hiking trails.

Our adventure begins in the imperial city of Marrakesh. We'll ascend Mount Toubkal, the soaring peak of the Atlas Mountains, meet the native inhabitants of these vast lands, explore ancient cities, and spend a night in the endless sands of the Sahara with true Berbers. Afterward, we'll head to the incredible beaches of Legzira, washed by the waves of the Atlantic Ocean, where surreal natural arches will amaze even the most seasoned traveler.
