Embark on a full-day adventure with an 8:30 AM hotel pickup in Marrakech and journey to the Atlas Mountains. Reach Imlil Valley for a scenic hike through a wooded landscape, with lovely views of the Berber villages of Mezzik and Arhene. This day trek suits travellers with limited available time and those who prefer a lower-level path. It is a straightforward day hike with a moderate level of walking.

The itinerary

Day 01

Atlas Mountains Hike from Imlil to Tizi Mezzik

At 8:30 in the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel in Marrakech. After that, we journey to the Atlas Mountains, located near Marrakech.
We will reach Imlil Valley in the Atlas Mountains and begin our hike.
The path meanders upward from Imlil at 1,740 m, gradually moving further away from the valley floor and allowing lovely views of the Berber villages of Mezzik and Arhene and their green fields on the north side of the valley. You will also see Tizi n'Tamatert back on the far side (east) of the Imlil Valley, while Tizi Mezzik comes clearly into view ahead.
The path then continues along the north bank of the valley, rising through dispersed juniper trees. The ascent is gentle, only steepening as the Tizi Mezzik pass at 2,490 m approaches. After a break with orange juice or tea, we will continue ascending to reach the Mount of Tasserimout at 2,640 m and enjoy stunning views of the Imlil and Azzaden valleys.
After a 15-minute break, we will descend back to Tizi Mezzik for a delicious lunch, then continue back to Imlil before driving to Marrakech.
